Swaging and soldering copper pipes

Your about 20 years behind the times, in Australia we use Silver solder no flux required, and use plier type swaging tool much simpler, "Don't solder it horizontally" I guess all your pluming runs vertically over there, would love to see how you do it.

Can you swag and press it if you put an o ring in?

An interesting question, but the press doesn't really squash the oring, either Mprofile or propress leaves it barely squeezed - its the copper that is being sqashed into that hexagon-like shape.

The time and effort of that seems a bit pointless, just use a coupler
