There's a few ways that can bs their way around this with some good old fashion Ass-pull Jutsu. #1) the fact that Kakashi's eye is not his original eye can be an excuse for him (meaning the eye was already in it's second host), while Obito could use a White Zetsu body excuse as a second house? (Ass-pull for sure) #2) The fact that the eyes weren't together when the Mangekyou was awaken, so each eye get can double in "duration of use" for the user before they goes blind? (that's as ass pull for sure though) #3) We honestly don't know how much Itachi used his Mangekyou Sharringan before he started going blind....all that spamming Kakashi and Obito did could still just not be as much as Itachi did throughout his lifetime....I can't think of anymore asspulls then those though. There's also just good ol' Plot-Jutsu....but that's been over done, lol. edit: Asspull #4 Sasuke just doesn't have as much chakra as the rest, so his eye went blind quicker....🤷 lol

Well he was just meant to be not there when Sasuke shines in darkness. And Itachi was part of that idea. Itachi is powerful, but he would absolutely not be able to take on the 5 kage. First of all. The 5 hokage did not even flex really against Sasuke. And Itachi would not last with his Susanoo at all. The normal Susanoo is proven to be damageable by various attacks of the kage. And also fighting the 5 kage Itachi's Susanoo would take huge amounts of damage which Itachi wouldn't able to take, and the Susanoo itself also costs loads of Chakra. So all in all. Itachi would easily be doomed. You need a Minato or first hokage to beat the 5 kage.

Side note: Itachi CAN put multiple people under his genjutsu. It is shown during the Itachi Arc. Shortly before the Uchiha massacre he used his Sharingan ability to put the two Anbu member, who were assigned to him, under his Genjutsu. Later, after the Uchiha massacre and before joining the Akatsuki, he used this to make them kill each other without even knowing of the Jutsu. So Itachi can at least put two people at the same time under his Genjutsu

Being blind or nearly blind has never slowed him down (especially when he's pretty much serious, but that's the point, he has never go all out against anyone during the series.) Itachi it's that type of character who can exceed almost any expectations. (at least that's what we were shown in the anime by the creator Masashi Kishimoto). Moral of the story, never underestimate Itachi. He did more sick than most healthy ninjas do in their entire life. In my opinion No One should underestimate such an unpredictable Shinobi like Itachi, even Madara (I won't say that Itachi can beat him, but at least he will be pretty much able to put a decent fight that Madara will also be impressed in my opinion). Also how can some of you guys even consider that Totsuka Blade it's slow when no such speed feat has been shown through the Shippuden that state it that it is slow? All of you are assuming it to be slow it may not be the case... Its not that the sword is unavoidable but it clearly has a very long range and is a very long blade. If you look at the manga, Naruto, Bee and Itachi are all relatively small from Nagato's point of view, and you can see the Totsuka Blade extending all the way from Itachi, piercing through Nagato, and still managing to nearly pop out toward the reader out of the page. I would say its fast because Kabuto coudldn't even react to it, and its not like Nagato was completely immobile to the point that he couldn't sidestep the blade. Also, Kabuto controlling people from far away is never stated to inhibit the Edos' reaction speed in any way. Being controlled by someone thousands of miles away didn't stop the Third Raikage from dodging KCM Naruto's Rasenshuriken. And as for Orochimaru, the sword struck him in between syllables of a word during his speech. I think that that is pretty fast. Pair the Totuska Blade with a good feint and its lethal because its ethereal, meaning it can pierce through any object. If the sword didn't live up to its reputation then Orochimaru wouldn't seek it out. People need to stop downplaying Itachi and denying the very clear speed feats of Totsuka. There is no room for interpretations here. The advantage of being an Uchiha, especially for Itachi and Madara, is that during an encounter against them, they always have a counter because of their unpredictable way of fighting factor, they don't run out of options or techniques, they almost always have a counter in their arsenal, even forbidden jutsus seems irrellevant against them, only a few Uchihas know a certain way to approach the situation with a certain and effective technique, that's why is hard/difficult to fight against them in my opinion. ☯️ 🤷‍♂️ Here are the things that make Itachi so formidable. Tsukuyomi - A genjutsu so powerful that you literally can't escape it unless you have the same blood as Itachi, as stated by Itachi himself and proven later by Sasuke, or you're a jinchuriki. Jinchuriki are supposed to be immune to genjutsu but it hasn't been proven, but when Bee was fighting Edo Nagato and Itachi with Naruto, he said to watch out for Tsukuyomi explicitly. Literally 99% of all opponents fighting Itachi have no way of stopping Tsukuyomi. You could have the power to split the planet in half and it wouldn't matter. (Want to know why? - Kakashi pretty much state it in the actual anime and manga that Tsukuyomi it's such a dangerous Genjutsu Technique because it happen in a instant, even if you realize that you are trapped in the Tsukuyomi, it will be too late, because Itachi could approach you during that time in the real world (or he can use an Explosive Clone to approach you without you even realizing it in time and he can pretty much finish you before you can even realize, - 72 hours in Tsukuyomi realm means 1 second or a couple of seconds in the real world. Tsukuyomi can't be broken, when used to it's fullest.) The Sword of Totsuka and Yata Mirror - The Susanoo itself is a near invincible defense but these two weapons take it to the next step. The Sword of Totsuka can seal "anything" if it even touches it. It's completely OP. It's hard to fight a guy that can seal you away if his sword even touches you. The Yata Mirror is even a bigger deal in my opinion. It doesn't block attacks, it's "negates" them. You could throw an Amaterasu covered Bijuu bomb at Itachi and the Yata mirror will negate it, making it so the Susanoo doesn't even need to take a blow. You could punch the Yata mirror and the force will completely be negated. His biggest strength of all: tactical intelligence - Itachi always outsmarts and plans for everything because the plot demands it. You're physically strong? Itachi is already 2 steps ahead of you knowing exactly what to do. You're extremely fast? Again, 2 steps. You're going to try and outlast Itachi in a fight? Good luck. To add to this, some of the 3 most powerful techniques in the verse are due to his intelligence and planning ability; Izanami, Izanagi, and Kotoamatsukami. Izanami - A forbbiden genjutsu technique that allows you to alter someone's destiny. Impossible to break out of even if you know you're in a genjutsu without complying with the users set destiny for you. Even someone like Bee, a perfect Jinchuriki, can't escape Izanami unless he does what Itachi wants him to. Izanagi - You somehow gained an advantage over Itachi? He makes it so that advantage never happened. Kotoamatsukami - Though Shisui's technique, Itachi has his eye which effectively makes it his weapon. A genjutsu so powerful that the person it's cast on doesn't even know they're under a genjutsu. Like the Tsukuyomi, completely OP. To add to all of this, Itachi is pretty good at hand to hand combat (his taijutsu it's really exceptional and underrated) is great with shuriken, is extremely fast, is great with regular fire techniques, is slippery and unpredictable, and has the extremely dangerous and fast Genjutsu style of fighting approach that can caught you off guard almost at any time. With all of these things considered you've got one dangerous ninja. Lastly but not least Kishimoto made sure that Itachi was seen as someone special and he did an incredible job in establishing that in the story. When Itachi Uchiha awakened his Susano'o, he was seen wielding legendary weapons of the Totsuka Blade and the Yata Mirror. The former allowed Itachi to seal anyone he pierced in a world of genjutsu forever, while the latter gave him the ability to deflect any and all attacks thrown towards him, regardless of whether they were physical or spiritual in nature. According to Zetsu (who was around since the period of Kaguya time era until the present of Naruto) he state it in the anime and also in the manga that these weapons, when combined with his Susano'o, made Itachi Invincible. This is why Kishimoto basically had to give him a handicap: Naruto AIDS. 🤷‍♂️

Itachi lived his whole life so that Sasuke could defeat him and become an Uchiha hero as well as a hero of the leaf. That, obviously, didn’t go as planned. However, it did allow Sasuke to grow and begin to start asking the right questions that would eventually lead him to becoming the man he (Itachi) wanted him to be. (Itachi was killed so that Sasuke could grow more powerful both as a character (to us in a real world moral sense) and as a Ninja. Itachi from the get go was extremely talented which more precisly means that Itachi just like Minato was pretty much an unique, authentic and especially unpredictable Shinobi which could exceed or overcome almost any expectations. (at least that's what we were shown in the anime by the creator Masashi Kishimoto himself) In my opinion No One in the series should underestimate such an unpredictable Shinobi like Itachi, even Madara (I won't say that Itachi can beat him, but at least he will be pretty much able to put a decent fight that Madara will also be impressed in my opinion). That is why it is arguable/debatable that he probably could or could not defeat foes like Minato, Obito or Pain/Nagato. Itachi was also a prodigy from birth and he knew all sorts of tricks and he's definitely a troublesome fellow to encounter. In my opinion, they are both very versatile, unique, interesting and especially very unpredictable in their way of fighting style approach. If you make an effort to look or to rewatch at all of Itachi's fights, you might discover that he's pretty much always able to outsmart anyone during a fight or a encounter, because of his unpredictability in his way of fighting style approach. His way of thinking and his calmness, intelligence and battle IQ experience factor it's very authentic and underrated, his true potential remain still unknown, because he wasn't go all out against anyone during the series.🤷🏻‍♂️☯️ I don't understand how some of you guys even dare or can to underestimate Itachi like that, many of you guys forget that Itachi isn't just any ordinary shinobi either, he is still considered by a very wide range of Naruto connoisseurs to be a very unique and unpredictable character at the same time and no one should underestimate him as some of you guys currently do. ;/ ☯️🤷🏻‍♂️What you have to remember, is that even in his battle with Sasuke, he has been fighting to lose. Itachi has always attempted to avoid conflict at all costs. He has to maintain his cover as an Akatsuki member, so he has to make viable excuses to avoid battle. When he says that fighting Jiraiya would have serious consequences, we know that he has an innate desire not to fight anyone at all, let alone a hero of the leaf, and he was a spy protecting Konoha from shadows. He could have killed Kakashi with ease. Kakashi even states that Itachi could have killed him, and wondered why he didn't. Knowing this, it is easy to see the pieces that point to a picture of Itachi that is devastatingly powerful in combat. In his confrontation with Asuma and Kurenai when he enters Konoha, we see him send Kurenai flying a large distance with a simple kick. We also see him deflect chidori, and snap Sasuke's arm like a twig with a single hand. He also sends Sasuke flying clear down the hallway with another kick in this fight. He is obviously a powerful, versatile, unpredictable and underrated taijutsu user. We know that he can kill with a glance using Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu, and become nearly invincible with his Susanoo. We see him use exploding clones, (it's his one of his unpredictability in his fighting way approach) powerful genjutsu not linked to his sharingan, ( with a single point of a one of his fingers) and making hand seals at insane speeds. He kicks the shit out of Kakashi and he barely moves. Tobi also tells us himself that Itachi could have killed him if it weren't for carefully guarded secrets. Orochimaru beats Tsunade and Jiraiya without the use of his arms. Granted, Jiraiya was drugged, but it's still the point. Orochimaru couldn't use seals at all. Itachi obliterated Orochimaru effortlessly. Itachi has been a step above from the beginning. In order for him to keep his cover in Akatsuki, he had to avoid conflict without arousing suspicion, and the best way to do that was to present himself as being much less powerful than he actually is. The one thing we have been able to see in detail, is his intelligence and unpredictability in his fighting way approach. Itachi has been shown to be able to plan events years in advance, to account for possible flaws in his plans with powerful contingencies, and to use every possibility to his advantage. Shikamaru plans a few hours in advance, and we label him a tactical genius. If that is the case, what does one even call Itachi? The only real flaws that Itachi possesses is a smaller chakra reserves, and his own morality which keeps him from gaining Eternal Mangekyo. But even the chakra is arguable. The techniques we see him use are enormously powerful, and would therefor have a huge chakra cost. I'm not going to say he is the most powerful character in the anime, but I am going to say he is definitely very very high on that list, and probably higher than most people seem to give him credit for. Lastly but not least, Kishimoto made sure that Itachi was seen as someone special and he did an incredible job in establishing that in the story. 🤷🏻‍♂️☯️✌️

@Cozy Yes the Kage do have a defense against Tsukuyomi. The Raikage is literally too fast for Itachi to hit him with either of Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu. Next the Stone Kage can literally turn him to dust and since he can react to the Raikage's movements in a team manner it means he is at least able to react to actions that are faster then Itachi's meaning Amaterasu would be something he can counter with particle style or just by raising an earth wall. Gara can defend against Amaterasu with his sand. As for Tsunade and Mai... not really sure what they can do besides Tsunade literally being able to go into her hundred healing state and tank the Amaterasu and crush Itachi into a splatter of blood on the wall. Next, it really isn't hard to not look at your opponent's eyes. Especially when you are fighting. You can just look at their shoulders or like Gia look at their feet. So Tsukuyomi is not the instant win you think it is. If Itachi isn't in his Susanno the Raikage would obliterate him in a couple seconds. His punches and throws hit far harder then a fucking shurikan. Let alone Tsunade's who can literally leave giant craters in the ground and knock down a full body Susanno from MADARA! Even with Madara dicking around he is far more powerful then Itachi or Pain.

And if he tries and moves the shield anywhere but at Onoki he's being turned to dust. 5) Did you not understand that in a fight it is rather easy to fight someone without looking into their eyes. If it had happened like this Itachi would win against The Five Kage Say it’s an open field The Five Kage gather at a random field with a stone table, grass, trees, etc This fight would start with Itachi walkin towards them with his mangekyo already active and once he gets close enough to them he immediately tsukuyomi’s tsunade to make her live out her life as if he tried to kill them but lost and they go about their lives meaning she dies of natural causes which makes her die instantly once the tsukuyomi’s over The Raikage would immediately charge head first into him and get a crow clone surprise, Itachi throws a Shurikens at the Raikage which makes him look at Itachi’s fingers, then he gets put under Genjutsu and Itachi stabs him with the Totsuka Blade killing him, that’s 2 of the strongest ones down As Tsunade dies Ohnoki tries to use particle style to obliterate Itachi (who has yet to use a crow substitute) and charges it up then an explosive clone of Itachi attacks from behind and Ohnoki has to redirect the blast towards the clone, he manages too and it blows up also Gaara uses his sand to shield Ohnoki, Mei & himself from the blast which was close enough to severely injure them had Gaara not shielded them, giving Itachi enough time to use the Raikage’s bloodthirsty tendencies against him and killing him which allows Itachi to sprint directly towards the rest of the kage, as he’s almost 30 meters from them Ohnoki charges up another blast and shoots it at Itachi not realizing he intended to use another a clone, they look ahead thinkin they’ve won after the second blast and suddenly Itachi attacks from above with his Susanoo that also has Amaterasu around it (he obviously used the trees to gain enough height while they were distracted by the explosive clone) and tries to stab Ohnoki with the Totsuka Blade, Mei and Gaara attempted to stop him but their efforts were stopped by the Yata Mirror and Itachi kills Ohnoki, his chakra’s low his vision is also blurry (it’s as blurry as it was when he saw Sasuke at the Old Uchiha Hideout) but most people that use logic would agree that he manages to kill Mei & Gaara with little to no trouble even with his chakra almost being depleted

Itachi was considered to have kage way of thinking at a young age. He was a prodigy who would become the strongest in order to achieve his goal after seeing the massacre of the war his father was in and took him to see. Even said he almost awoken his sharingan then at that age. I'm sure he has a mentality like batman when confronted by the league and he stated he had plans to basically stop everyone just in case. It is said to be endowed with all nature transformations, and is able to change its characteristics to any nature transformation to completely negate any attack, whether it be spiritual, or physical. Don't forget Katsuyu tanked a Shinra Tensei that literally turned Konoha into a giant crater, and Orochimaru said that Katsuyu's acid could easily liquefy him (it also burned through a rock in Katsuyu's first manga fight). Itachi has no answer for it. Tsunade was also able to undo the comas that Itachi inflicted upon Kakashi and Sasuke in part 1, meaning that he has to find a way to deal with her or he wont make progress against the others. But Tsunade with Byakugo is almost immortal, she tanked a point blank hit from Madara's Susano before he figured out what her Byakugo actually does.

People forget how smart itachi was, he was prolly the smartest fighter in the series to the level of shikamaru, etc. HE would 100% one shot charging tsunade with totsuka, fully knowing how dangerous she is and would instantly go for gaara next. In the end its just plot armor, who wears it is what matters. Itach had so many stupid, hax abilities that in theory and with good plot armor he can win vs anyone. Totsuka/tsukyomi is just broken. And remember tsukyomi coma were from itachi being friendly and a good guy to not weaken leaf village, his tsukyomi is perfectly capable to kill a person instantly (in his novels, he killed his girlfriend in a few seconds by making her live through all her life in a few seconds and she died of old age in there, then in reality. Tsukyomi is exceptionally strong ability, most people are trying to downplay. Overall the grand plan was infinite tsukyomi, not something else. AS mentioned itachi had the most insane, hax abilities, which leave him in this stupid zone, not that strong, nor that weak, but with plot armor can potentially win vs anyone. ANd its this way, mainly cause we never, ever had proper itachi developement, just innuenos, legends and a few episodes with a sick itachi, where in no instance he was even trying or even in REMOTE danger, except his fight with sasuke in which he wanted to lose and die anyway and was probably days away from dying from the illness.

the 5 kage never had a chance against madara youre giving them too much credit in that fight. madara was literally joking around with them he mentions how weak the kage are. they never got close to beating him. idk about itachi beating all the 5 kage at once maybe 1 on 1 but saying the 5 kage almost took out a significantly stronger enemy, madara, is a cap. madara only had interest in fighting hashirama everyone else was just in the way. lol one of narutos clones did a better job in base mode handling madara than the 5 kage did. they never had a chance.
