Swami Ranganathananda - Humanist Par Excellence - Part 2

Swami Ranganathananda ji Maharaj was the 13th President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna mission. He was a disciple of Mahapurush Swami Shivananda ji Maharaj who was a direct disciple of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Deva and a brother-disciple of Swami Vivekananda.

I wonder if this great Swami ever visited Sri Ramanasramam when Sri Ramana was still ' in the body ' ? 🕊️🕉️

Swami Ranganathanandaji's reminiscences of Bhagavan is available in the book 'Face to face with Sri Ramana Maharshi' published by Sri Ramana Kendram, Hyderabad. Therein, Swami mentions about the visit in the year 1936 to Sri Ramanasramam and being in Bhagavan's Physical Presence. 🙏🙏🙏

@@savithrivenkataraman8121 Thank you so much for letting me know that . I wondered if he had met Bhagavan . In the early 80's when I was just getting to know about Bhagavan but did not know about Sri Ramanasramam etc I wrote to the president of the Sri Ramakrishna society here in the UK and he replied to me saying that " as a young man he had visited Bhagavan .He had asked Bhagavan what his path would be and finding that he was attracted to Sri Ramakrishna , Bhagavan told him that he should follow Sri Ramakrishna then ". Oh, NO! i am not even worthy enough to chant His name. Venkataraman is one of the many names of Lord (Vishnu) and is very common in South India Namaskaram

Sw. Ragananthananda called religion "the philosophy of life"-- a scientific quest for truth. When the same spirit of scientific temper &inquiry that we employ to investigate the mysteries of the material world --if directed inward-- it becomes religion or spirituality. Ethnic religion is different than the science of religion which is the science of human growth& fulfillment.
