It's crazy to think Tchaikovsky was so underappreciated in his own time by many. Many Russians thought his style was too romantic, too "western," not "Russian" enough, while some westerners thought his style wasn't western enough. More than a century later, I say, "Thank God for that." His music outlived all of the naysayers. Once, and likely always will Tchaikovsky be my favorite composer. Thank you for gifting the world this romantic repertoire, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.😌👌

I really love the introduction of Swan lake, but it usually does not turn so good on the piano. This translation is amazing! Who wrote it?
@DanielDugovic2 жыл бұрын
Some guy named Pyotr, no? Maybe I'm thinking of The Nutcracker.
@KaraComparetto2 жыл бұрын
Oh I think you mean the arranger! I believe it's by a guy named Lange, or Langer, possibly a contemporary of Tchaikovsky's. Unlike the nutcracker, Tchaikovsky didn't write his own piano reduction. The original reduction was almost like a full orchestra reduction which is extremely difficult to play on piano. I'll share a little more about it in my next swan lake video :) But you can get this transcription for like $10 on Amazon!
