People don't realize how hard these group variations are. It's like suspenseful. In a solo you can often hide a mistake and the public will never notice. In this if someone goes down the whole thing goes to hell. You cannot have an off moment ever!

Especially with this one because it has to be so precise and on count. And if you fall all four of your are going to be on the floor.

Exactly! Like I noticed right away that the woman on the far right was slightly slower than the rest at 0:34 . It barely qualifies as a difference, but because they're all lined up you can pick out every moment they're even slightly out of sync

Even just dancing it by yourself is difficult enough without the additional challenge of coordinating with three others. By the time you reach the pas de chats, your body just wants to drop dead from exhaustion. Ballet one of the most difficult things to master. Posture, accuracy, rhythm, elegance with strength... The actual Pas de quatre music piece is faster for sure. So for sure lots of practice.

I wish I started ballet at a young age so i could do this and dance on pointe shoes. It’s truly beautiful!

I love their collective sighs and pants at the end. This made me tired and I’m just watching lol.

Who else would buy the dvd if PNB recorded swan lake for us? And Giselle. And don Quixote. You know, I'd buy and dvd pnb released. My favorite company.

Wow! It was amazing seeing the girls in the background doing it as well. The point dancers at my ballet studio when we do nutcracker do this for like sugar plum.

This is beautiful. I love watching ballet so much. It's so satisfying. It's incredible how these people move. I find it amazing how they push their body beyond it's limits all of the time.

My studio did swan lake for two years and I was freshman in high school the first year. I was cast as a small swan and I can assure you the best part is the end because you don’t have to worry about taking the girl next to you down if you mess up a step.

Am I the only one triggered by the two girls with tights over their Leo’s? No, just me? Ok....
@jenniferl.81114 жыл бұрын
I think the third girl from the left is actually the most in synch with the music, just an opinion

They wear their tights over their Leo's !!!!
@amidala39274 жыл бұрын
It's very common for professionals to wear the tights on top. When you're practicing for hours at a time, it's much easier to not have to remove everything just to get the tights off to use the bathroom between rehearsals.

Amidala lol thank you, I left this comment more than a year ago and have now became apart of the tights over Leo squad😂

this is one of my favorites to perform mostly because of how you bond with the girls you dance with and how you feel like you’re flying when you all get it down

Absolutely breathtaking!! Yes, the dancer in the black leotard just commands the space. But together they are fantastic.

The dancers in the background seek to be following every move they make and copying them in certain sections. Are they backups??
@ameliagrace12269 жыл бұрын
Or they are just a separate group (different set of four girls) that also has to learn the dance

+A Ka There are multiple casts for most roles: a) so the dancers don't get too fatigued on a busy performance weekend b) so more dancers get an opportunity to perform c) if anyone is injured, there is someone who can step in for them. Right after the end of this video, the other cast rehearsed the exact same excerpt.
