great piece! I will say, generally horn 1 and 3 are high while 2 and 4 are generally low.

You are 100% correct, that is the typical symphonic arrangement of the horns. I had discussions with some big horn players and they encouraged me to write the arrangements like an SATB choir score as long as I don't mix too much the horn range.
