Yes, I'm afraid so, especially after all this hoop-la over Martin Scorsese's new film that I'm sure I would think is trash (maybe it isnt and I'm just old-fashioned). Anyway, would you have any contacts that could help me find a complete Raymonda and 1890 revival of Beauty with AA? She and Ulanova are my all-time favorite female ballerinas.

To our regret, neither R nor SB have been recorded with AA. By that time Makhalina had became a favourite ballerina of O.Vinogradov

Yes +millriv no Raymonda but yes to Sleeping Beauty. There is a VHS of her as Aurora on Amazon. I bought one and posted a video of her doing the variation after Rose Adagio. Unfortunately, it does not say cast members but the Prince is Kostya. The lighting is horrendous.

Stephanie Sticks Thank you (I am millriv - don't know why they changed it). I have 2 performances of SB with AA but they are the standard Kirov version (one is the commercial one, filmed when the Kirov was in Moscow c.1989) and other a pirated one at the Maryinski. In neither does she do 4 rotations in the Rose adagio. In the London version (c 1999) which ....(I forget her name - the great lady of the dance whose videos were ordered off you tube) posted a few years back she does 4 rotations with awesome (I use the word in its original meaning) balances (yet - probably due to lacklustre conducting - the overall Adagio is not as exciting as in the 2 above-mentioned versions. Her Giselle is remarkable and unique. Also her Odette/ Odile is my favorite of all exponents in this role. Alas, I never saw her live.
