First went to Swanage in 1980 with the wife and the two children who were 7 and 11.I have been going ever since,sadly on my own since the wife died in 2007 aged 58 but my daughter who is now 50 moved there in 2001 and loves living there along with her husband and four children.

1983.. The year I was born! No cd's, just tapes. Cars that actually had character and charm unlike the euroboxes of today!

Spent many summers in swanage from 77 84, love the place, caravan holiday

Swanage what a great place used to go every year for a month for the summer holiday from 1970-1989 I have the calling to go back to the place, we used to hire a beach hut from the Deer family, its nice to the place and all the old cars

Looks quite warm for a December day in 1983. Interesting cars on the road including a Vauxhall Victor FD. The Vauxhall Nova the lady was driving was one of the earliest, a Y reg new in mid 1983.

How was the traffic back without the railway operating norden park and ride? or was it the railway that brought huge numbers of visitors?

I think that was shot at Ringwood Caravan Park. The video was uploaded for family use and named 'Swanage 83' but includes the surrounding area. Surprised how may views it's getting!
