Following the plight of Andy and his 72-year-old father Cookie, both surviving on Swansea's streets during the harshest winter in a decade. Their situation is exacerbated by their alcoholism, and Andy's desperation to be off the streets sees him turn to the church to help get him into a rehab programme. Plus, an update on Stevie, who was considering breaking the law two years ago in order to get a prison bed.

Your right 'i must say bc im not to crash hot about churches n so on but ya as there the ones who at that time when u really need some help even if its as small as a blanket or a cup of tea/coffee bc the public have there lives n they just want to keep walking n get on wit there own lives basically n in a way u cant blame them even tho 'really' it all comes down to compassion #period.

interesting , Its very fashionable to attack christianity and the church , but it seems churches are doing a huge amount for the homeless and in fact represent the best source of help for these people .. I would be interested if these efforts are matched by other religions in the UK ?

I've watched all of these and the majority who get found homes end up back on the streets within weeks. Homelessness is complexed and multifaceted. Most live chaotic lives and can't adapt to normal living after years on the streets. As well as substance issues, most have un resolved childhood trauma and mental health problems, so be kind and imagine it was one of your own family members.

I can't imagine having to deal with the cold like that. In Melbourne it gets cold in winter like this morning it was frosty and 0 degrees or maybe 1. But it wouldn't get 10 below or snow. It was cold last night I think about homeless people and I wish I could make more rooms for them

Yes a bedsit is a one roomed accommodation with bed and kitchen and sofa and bed in one room. It’s accommodation you rent out. A hostel is a refuge for homeless or newly released prisoners. They can be in single rooms or dormitories.

Not always.... women who don't have kids get put in hostels.... hardly ideal .. surrounded by god knows who... only women with kids get actual housing.
