We're never gonna challenge for the playoffs when we got a team that consistently starts well, takes the lead, then spends the rest of the game having a panic attack at the prospect of possibly winning a game.

You're absolutely right. Even if they managed to make the play-offs, we have an atrocious record against the top 6 sides this season. Swans will be saying we took a 2-0 lead and took the foot off the gas. Sunderland will be saying they only started playing when 2-0 down. So again, I agree with you. We've lost far too many points this season from winning positions. But in all fairness, the table as it stands is representative of the level of the budgets. And if you look at it that way, based on the Swans' payroll budget, we're over achieving. One thing I'm certain of though, and I thought as much last season, LW makes awful substitutions too often.

Agreed, I love Luke, but the way he does subs in bunches does not work for this team. They always sit back with a lead, but when he makes subs, I feel 10x worse than before because every time they make subs ahead, it feels like they're parking the bus. He can call out the players, but it feels like it's a tactical failure.

@JackWilliams-kb5pm yeah no chance. But that's the only silver lining here. 6-8 weeks ago the strategy to deal with the Swans was 'score once and they can't win.'

Excellent start from the Swans - hard not to be proud of that. HOWEVER... Sunderland, despite their apparent run of mediocre form can come back in the way they did - that is a premier league team playing in the Championship. Sometimes it's best to lay down your gloves and just give in - and when teams like Swans (as they are at the moment) come up against a great team in below average form beat you, it's time to say "ok, we're not there yet". Got to hand it to the Sunderland mindset - it isn't over until it's over and we ARE going to win this. As a Swans fan, I wish our lads had the same attitude and confidence.
