Those who cannot invest large amounts nor have the means to protect physical gold shouldnt be left out. Bitcoin is good because it can be protected more easily than any other asset. You could realistically memorize your private 12 word phrase with a mnemonic and noone can ever even know you have it. You can invest and divest any amount almost instantly anywhere with an internet connection and device. Gold requires you to purchase from a reputable dealer which may not be where you live, with risks of getting a fake product, and usually only in set weights. Grams/Ounces. Including a premium for smaller amounts. And requires you to be able to find someone willing to verify/buy. Bitcoin does all that automatically nearly instantly across the world. Gold is physically useful and pretty to look at but is no longer money. This doesn't mean its still not a store of value or an investment asset. Both are good and should be in any investors portfolio. Bitcoin just works for the everyday people. People who want a hedge against inflation, who want a potential currency that wont be debased/taxed/controlled by their government. But rather by mathematical security and everyone who uses it/secures the network

Electronic money i can't see isn't money to me. I need paper or a metal to weigh in my hand. Gold has been the standard since day one. In my expert I don't see anyone just giving up their gold or jewlery. Even more so for something that has to mined or pay above inflated prices. These prices fluctuate like flatulence.

It would sound absurd if the world began with a decentralized, fixed-supply monetary system like Bitcoin, and then politicians knocked on doors proposing a new system where: 1. Money could be printed at will, devaluing everyone’s savings. 2. People had to trust centralized authorities to manage the currency. 3. The system operated on debt, where the government controls both issuance and surveillance. People would likely reject such a pitch as regressive, given the inherent stability and freedom a decentralized system offers. The absurdity would be striking!

I'm a crypto investor and gold holder, however, 12 Years of bitcoin history and price increase due to artificial liquidity and increase in global central bank M2 money supply is not a strong enough argument to say that bitcoin will continue to do this for the next 100 years and it's not strong argument alone due to the fact that the only reason it increases in price is because an increase in liquidity. For anyone who actually follows the money, you'll discover that trade washing through tether (ponzi scheme) and artificial liquidity is the only thing pumping Bitcoin. Did anyone with a brain ever ask the question what's the motive behind this? If you did, then you wouldn't take one side and you'd be zooming out to follow the money, then things will make sense, unfortunately, people follow the price, no the money.

The global unit of account (what goods are priced in) is still the US dollar today. Hence we price the overall market cap in US dollars. You can price it in whatever you want though. Dollars, Yen, Euro, gold bars. 1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin and the value of that unit is going up over time due to it's monetary properties.

Can you go to the supermarket and pay with gold without getting robbed? If people find out people pay with physical gold you will see chaos all over the place, just look at our past history when gold coins were used in some countries. Bitcoin can be used the same way as a credit card.

Peter: if you put your gold into a vault, you're not going to be looking at it. Furthermore, try moving overseas or to another country with your Gold. Ain't gonna be easy. I have both gold and btc and both have an invaluable role to play. It's not either/or.

I think the real question is ! Is there a better Bitcoin out there which is faster and uses less energy. Early adopters made a killing . At above 60k not sure

The fact that it uses energy is actually a feature, not a bug. The proof of work through energy consumption connects the digital world to the physical world. To understand this a bit better I suggest looking into how flexible and portable Bitcoin miners are. The miners are actively seeking the cheapest stranded, or wasted energy. (Gas flares/waterfalls/volcanoes/power plants during times of low demand, etc) This actually stabilizes existing power grids, and enables us to harness the power of natural energy sources in remote areas all around the world.
