Some of the older NT carbs have 4mm jets, but so long as you have 5mm jets, this'll work

Ik this is very rhetorical but how do youvget it to idle likebyhat without holding the clutch
@NicksBikes Жыл бұрын
It's my homemade boost bottle. It lowers my idle speed heaps and makes it more stable. No power increase though, but lower idle makes a huge difference to my fuel economy

get a 66 main jet and try it i found that made it run perfect

My floot bowl white ring pin come out trying to change jett ,how so you probably fix the pin to hold the ring in place?
@NicksBikes Жыл бұрын
I hate when that happens. You just have to try to hold it in place and watch it like a hawk. Those pins will try to escape like Andy Dufrense

Can you explain how to fix jetting white flapping part pin

Can you explain your problem in a bit more detail?
@jimjensen10962 жыл бұрын
@@NicksBikes I think he means the float hinge pin. If you hold your HP carb just so it will slide out on its own. Slide her back in and the fuel bowl keeps it in place.

I have problems with my hp carb since I received it. It came with a 70 jet which it was too rich. In the old NT carb I was using a 68 jet and it was running good. After I added an expansion chamber my bike didn't want to go uphill, so I placed the HP carb with a 68 jet and it is running rich. I lowered the jet down to 58 and it is still appear to run rich. I am worried that if I go lower with the jet size I can damage the engine. How's that possible? Didn't the HP carb has larger air intake and so the mixture should be leaner with a 68 jet? Please guys if any of you have the solution it is very appreciated
@NicksBikes Жыл бұрын
Honestly? The HP carb is rubbish. Run an NT Speed carb without the air box, just the foam.
@gianpy566 Жыл бұрын
@@NicksBikes and do you think that this can make my bike work good with the expansion chamber? Because as of now the motor goes well on flat road but it dies when trying to go uphill. Edit: the expansion chamber is actually the "banana" pipe, a friend of mine tried that and he loved it, but with that and the old carb the engine is running very poor.
@NicksBikes Жыл бұрын
Lose the "banana pipe" and get a proper expansion chamber. I vote for the NT carb because it has more ability to fine tune, whereas the HP carb is basically limited to changing the main jet. Seriously try the NT carb without the black plastic air box, you'll be surprised at what a difference it will make. You might want to consider running a higher quality spark plug. The NGK B6HS is a tried and true reliable plug. Your issues may very well boil down to weak spark. When I ran the HP carb, I found it smoothed out the low end running and with almost no 4-stroking, but it would not allow the engine to rev high, costing me performance at the top end.
@gianpy566 Жыл бұрын
@@NicksBikes thank you very much for your advices! I Will certainly try the carb things, and maybe try to clean up my spark plug while waiting for the new one to arrive.

What final speed did you get with that jet? And what is the height above sea level?
@NicksBikes3 жыл бұрын
I'm in a valley, so height above sea level is moot, due to the drastic changes in elevation. I have to shoot for a happy medium. I got a higher top speed out of the NT carb in the end, but the HP made for a smoother power range with less bogging/4 stroking.

my nt carb jet has smaller thread's than the hp carb
@NicksBikes3 жыл бұрын
That's a bummer. There are a few different series of the NT carb. You'll want 5 mm jets for the HP. You've likely got 4 mm. Personally I'd recommend picking up an NT Speed carb. More tuning options than the HP
