While I do agree that you should try to counter swap if you think another support is better, i think it's more important that support isn't the only role doing that. Unless you need anti or sleep dart (or a specific ability), it's also up to tank and dps to counter

Yup, a good tank can greatly assist with backline getting harassed. Best tank to really do it with is dva or Orisa imo. Dva has her defense matrix and Orisa can push and spear a bitch.

At my rank it's all tanks swapping to counter the other tank. Rein/Orisa/Sig is literally rock/paper/scissors and it's getting old.

as a support player this is common sense. always swap to a support that counters the enemy comp. if you're dying fifty times to a tracer on mercy, GET OFF MERCY. when I first started playing OW I started off playing mercy but over the course of 5 years I've now mastered ALL of the supports that way I can play whatever my team needs

This is true. Start this as early as you can because when I do start off playing another support that isn’t Lucio or Mercy, my team lacks a lot and I think it was due to my fear of exploring sooner. Switching to Lucio and Mercy often saves my games but it does feel really bad when it looks like you’re throwing and you’re really not trying to. Like you I’ve been playing five years but it ended up in me mastering Mercy, being useful as Lucio, and being an utter thrower if playing anyone other than them. Of course I switch off these two when it proves they aren’t helping but just know i’m struggling a lot to keep up with the pace of my team haha. Moira was often a decent pick but over the last year or so I’ve been lacking as her almost as much as the rest. Anyways. Start. Learning. Early!

That's how it is for all roles, not just support. After these ult conversion on swap changes have turned the game into an endless game of rock, paper, scissors which really isn't very fun to do every game.

its good for the game direction overall, no other game allows such a diverse pool of potential hero swaps, and the ult charge conversion really emphasises this dimension of gameplay that no other game has. Other games have their own unique dimension to it, and this is one of overwatch’s dimensions.

When you used trans and stayed on zen I knew a blade wipe was coming. I was expecting you to swap to something that could manage vs it more. I thought Lucio to boop speed away but I know he isn't your most comfortable of picks. Too bad you couldn't swap to ana from zen there (I am sure you would have if you could).

I am a full flex dps who plays literally every hero to varying degrees of success but decently enough. I love your videos when it comes to swapping it has expanded my horizon. Though i still need practice at mid match moira swaps to get back faster it still feels awkward.

Here is my history that made me a full flex. To start on release of ow I was a zen only player. Then ana released and played a lot of that. Once goats started I got into organized play but the first team I was on had the main support refuse to play Lucio (very toxic player also so very little success and short lived team). So I played lucio just a little. Then the next team I went on I played Zen in goats and we won a tournament with that. The coach moved me up to the higher ranked squad at end of goats just as double shield started and I started playing Lucio again (this is where I started getting better with him by a lot). Also Mercy for Pharah/Mercy comps of course. Then played a bit of brig/zen as double shield evolved nearing the end of the competition season I was in and won again. Sadly team disbanded after and just played whatever I wanted since (mostly more Lucio/Brig). Then OW2 happened and have just grinded out getting good with Kiriko. So now I am pretty good at every support with Moira as my least played and everything else fairly even. If you read all this get a life and thank you.

​@OrangePeelo Zen is fine. His high damage is balanced by his inability to stay alive. And yeah, playing JQ for example into Zen is stupid anyway, that's what counter swaps are for. Dive Zen, he's dead. Snipe Zen, he's dead. Just because you can't deal with an ability that helps teams have a chance against unkillabe tanks, doesn't mean it's op. Not being able to hide behind two shields has made a lot of heroes stronger. Heaven forbid a support does more damage (and btw, that means the other team has limited heals, so play smart and you outheal them... people act like he has 10k hp and one shots with every breath he doesn't take)
