Really interesting to see the different methods that can be used - I’ve never seen it done this way. Hoping to catch my first swarm here in the UK - I’ve just made a few swarm traps and put them out....fingers crossed!

Thanks for your video. Why did you not shake the swarm straight into a box with a couple of frames in there? I've never seen people shake onto a frame and transfer into a box, was this a learning experience thing? I ask cause it looks like bees bounce off the frame and miss the box on the way down, I was worried you might loose the queen doing that.

I like to transfer the bees as calmly as possible. To me, putting them onto a frame with foundation and lowering them into the nuc was less disruptive to the bees. Most of the time you do have to shake them. This one was so easy I wated to try it. Once the queen is inside they march right in. No need to dump them. Both methods work just fine.
