If it was you Own money, would you pick CL pocket 10x25 or these CL companion 10x30 ? Just purely on the binos, forgetting box etc

For 10x go for the 10x30. 10x25 is too dark image

Just bought them. Almost got the Zeiss Conquest but they were TOO BULKY & focus was too coarse. Otherwise, I would have went wi Zeiss 10 x 32 Conquest.

I have a passion for German optics. I have bought several high end Leica and Zeiss binoculars. I recently purchased the Swarovski 8x30 CL. I am convinced that they are better built and have superior optics than the Leica and Zeiss equivalent models. Swarovski also made some seriously fine crystal figurines back in the day. They stopped making the good ones in the 90s. In my humble opinion the crystal merchandise they make now days is nothing more than trinkets. However, they more than make up for it with the Optiks division.

@@KnorpelDelux I am guessing you have never been to Austria or Germany. They speak German there. The culture for all practical purposes is very similar, which includes excellence in engineering and manufacturing. That is all I meant.

I have a pair and I think they are perfect. Now some twentysomething sniper with perfect vision and field skills may think differently. I have fairly good eyesight and think they are great to be honest. For me they have the right amount of quality, precision and toughness.

The Kowa Genesis 10x33 Prominar is just as good and in my opinion if not little better and is a little less expensive.

I agree I have the Kowa Genesis 8x33 it is very solid and the optics are great as good as any Swarovski. The Kowa has the diopter ring on the barrel but it is a solid locking diopter and will not move once set . The hinge on this CL Companion looks like plastic? or is it metal pained silver ? it just looks cheap. I think if people would try a Kowa Genesis 10x33 they would be surprised how good they are compared to Swarovski . Also the Kowa does not have the glare issues of many Swarovski binoculars in extreme sunlight especially important living in the Mountains of Colorado like I do.

The Kowa also has an aluminum or magnesium focus knob, nothing plasticky. I accidentally dropped mine from 15 feet and no damage at all. Kowa does not have the big name like Swaro but they do make awesome glass.

But if we are also sensitive to the aesthetics of such an instrument, there is no photo, and Swarovski is very far ahead ! 😉
