Just found this excellent review. Thank you for a quick and to the point review of the difference between the 10X and 12X. I appreciate how quickly you got to the image comparisons.

Hi, maybe the Swarovski 7x21 and the 12x 42 is a nice combination?! The 10x 42 shows slightly better colors I guess ? ( the 12x42 is also great for stargazing I think.and you can get a special adapter for tripod )

I think you did excellent job. I wish everyone measured out a object that there comparing binoculars with. I came across your videos because I am looking at the nl 12x42 to buy There two things holding me back price and product being three years old. Will they come out with a better line soon I noticed a black image on the left side when you showed the 12x42. Is that normal or was it because of the phone I will be subscribing to your channel
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. The shadow on that image was because the phone had come a little loose on the eye cup and created that little bit of black. I did not see it until I was editing the video on a larger screen… they will not be introducing a new line for quite some time. They ran with the EL for a long time and from what I understand they will be using the NL for just as long. The price is definitely hefty, but they will definitely be the last pair you ever need. If you do a lot of glassing they will save your eyes and from getting headaches. If you don’t glass a lot there are other binos to consider for less. But like I said if you glass a lot the Swaro is a game changer

You use glassing as a verb. What does it mean?

Are you using the phone skope? I had terrible luck using the phone skope on the NL 12x42. Doesn’t stay put.

I am using a phone cam. That’s the brand. Same type thing as phone scope, but I have found it hooks to optics better. Never had one it won’t work on. I made a video on it about a year or so ago!

Best for birding? I would think 12x due to magnification. I don't care about spotting nearby birds,i just want to focus ona few birds as clearly and closely as possible
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw Жыл бұрын
Yeah the 12xNL would work amazingly for you

Looking to buy either the 8x42 ELor 10x42 EL 80% of my hunting is for white tails in the south East but 20% would be for bigger game in Texas and out west. Since it’s a big investment, if you had to only choose one option, which would you recommend?
@Paultricounty Жыл бұрын
EL’s in 42 come in 8.5x and 10x. I’m partial to 8/8.5’s myself , better in low light conditions dawn/dusk. In the more wide open or longer ranges (Texas) the 10x might be better. Truly you can’t go wrong with either EL.

@Paultricounty11 ай бұрын
@@GM-bq6zo I use both. Right now I’m using 10NL, 8.5EL and the 8x32EL. Truly I’m more of Leica guy, Noctivids in 8x all the way 🤣.

@@Paultricounty what do u think of the ultravids? The field of view is small isn't it.

Why do bird watchers like 10 X 42. It seems like 12 X 42 would be better? What's your opinion for bird watching? Thanks.
@rogueoutdoorshtkstw10 ай бұрын
Well it depends on the location and distance you will normally be bird watching at. A lot of people bird watch within 50 yards. In that instance you probably want the biggest field of view. It would also be easier to follow the bird. I would consider the 8x 32 in that instance. But as you are looking farther for them then go up in power. I would also recommend getting a tripod to mount the binos on. That will stabilize the image so much

Hand shake can be bad in 12x. A lot of birders actually like 7x but theyre not as prevalent. I like 8x or 10x personally.

@rogueoutdoorshtkstw7 ай бұрын
What kind of terrain are you normally hunting? I would go the EL if I was in more brushy area and not trying to glass over 800 years often. If you want the better magnification go with the NL, but just know if your hunting 200 yards and in a lot, you will struggle compared to the huge field of view of the EL at 50mm.
