I'm a SWAT operator and it's complete garbage. We would NEVER negotiate with someone who has a gun pointed at someone like that when we have a clear shot with a concrete backdrop. Especially with someone who has their finger on the trigger like he does. The response time to the scene is laughable too. There would be a whole stack of people and never just 2 guys. I was just on a SWAT callout 1 hour ago.

Its not like they have guys who are precision shooters. That is why, unless they are about 1 meter/3 foot or closer, they often miss their target. They are as likely to hit bystanders as they are who they are shooting at. Not to mention, being in a vehicle wreck, and then getting Shot At! Very Distracting.

The moment at 0:38 when they pass the beam coming up the stairs... SO WRONG. Man on our right (their left) looks straight ahead along with the second guy. Where the camera is positioned (us audience) could be a bad guy. Yet he does not even clear the corner (his eyes and his gun point in tandem with his partner but not towards us). Watch it with a playback speed of .25 if that helps.

Because SWAT tries to capture suspects, not just kill them. I have not seen the episode, however, from the dialog, the guy with the Pistol is also a victim of a Crime, and the suit is at least an Accessory to the crime, in which a woman died (was Murdered?). So, he was trying for some vigilante "justice" SWAT guys seemed to have sympathy for him.
