Love! For my topper swatch sticks, I first paint a third of the swatch stick white and a third black and leave a third clear and then swatch the topper over all three.

I've been trying to figure out how to create a good swatch stick collection so I don't have to go through and pull each bottle out when I am looking for a particular color, and I love how you did this so I'm using your idea. The whole Holo Taco color story is SOOOO GOOD 😍😍😍 I’m so glad I watched this because I sometimes forgot how beautiful these colors are! I really wasn't sure whether to watch this or not. Holo Taco isn't readily available in the UK unless I pay huge postage costs but as your swatches are always so amazing I just had to. It's a mammoth task you have set yourself which I really admire, I'm even considering doing this myself. I love these videos, they're so relaxing! I actually watch them before bed haha! I do want to note that for some polishes, the lighting seems very bright and oversaturated; it's pretty accurate for all glitters, holos and shimmers, but for example Banana Hacks looks practically neon and I'm Live is -much- darker even in straight sunlight for me, and certainly a lot darker than Resting Witch Face.😅Also the pigment separation on Green Taffy is wild!

Ah I'm sorry about that, I was going off the way they looked with my studio lighting with my color correcting so the combo of that plus the light background might have made them a bit too bright 😅 I'll color correct them in regular lighting next time!!

I've actually not gotten rid of any Holo Tacos yet (although I should probably thin out my collection a bit haha!) To be honest I don't really have a specific method for keep vs donate, I usually keep all of the polishes from a brand until the collection starts to get a bit overwhelming 😅 I mostly get rid of dupes and formulas I'm not a fan of from mainstream brands!

Loving this series SO much! 😊And you inspired me to finally start cataloging my own collection on swatch sticks. When you posted your first video, I went onto Amazon and ordered my sticks and printer immediately 😂 Have you been happy with how the sticks turned out when painting the backside of the stick? Just wondering if the plastic dulls the special finishes like the holos or glitters. I love the idea of not needing to apply top coat on every stick though ❤

Overall I am pleased with the result from swatching the back, but I have noticed so far that the creme finishes do highlight any sort of scratches or dullness that the front of the swatch sticks may have (which tbh I didn't notice from the other finishes like shimmers and glitters!) But honestly that's not a deal breaker for me, I can still see the color pretty well for those 😅😅 but I'll tell you it's IMMENSELY satisfying to see all the colors at once on the swatch sticks lol!!

I recently did this as well, and was shocked to learn that I only own 78 polishes! I also confirmed that I do not yet own the perfect ruby red, soft pink, or army green. Time to fill those gaps! I like how you painted the underneath side of the swatch stick. I think mine are too inexpensive some of them have scratches or marks on the tops, I am not sure if they would look good. I think I'll try it anyway. I love Holo Taco I have all the polishes. Great video I love seeing all the polishes being swatched. 😊

Honestly some of mine are scratched up too haha but i think it's fine for the creme finishes because I know the color/finish is consistent for the whole swatch stick if that makes sense!

sighhhh **goes to my holo taco wishlist** Also as a huge fan of holo taco’s glitters (and as someone APPALLED that people don’t love their glitters more), I was never a crystal skies fan, it never looked interesting to me. But up close, sooo glittery 🤤

Oh my gosh that's my struggle too tbh! I didn't realize how much space they take up - I've already got five rings full of swatches!! Maybe I can put up one of those peg walls for tools and hang my swatch stick rings from there lol

Totally not a stupid question! I'm annoyed at myself that I forgot to mention it LOL. I did paint the back! It's just a little trick for saving top coat, because when I flip it over to the front it's automatically smooth and shiny without having to top coat it!

I’m so glad you are doing these swatches 🥰 and sharing! I personally would be a bit frustrated though as a good amount of these polishes were either limited edition to begin with or have since been retired and are no longer available. Once the bottle is gone, the swatch stick is irrelevant. Holo Taco seems to introduce a lot of beautiful colors and polishes but some are not available for very long. I wonder if this is something you see in other brands? I’m fairly new to Indie polishes and drug store colors can be available for many, many years.

Honestly it really depends on the brand! But I'd say most indie brands are less limited edition polishes, generally brands I like tend to keep polishes in stock for a while (and eventually retire them, but it doesn't seem to happen often!)

That's a great question! I'm actually just painting the back since it's a clear swatch stick, so when I flip it over to the front it's smooth and shiny (as if I added top coat!)

You did a swatch of Zyler the Cat, and I have that, but it wasn't a Holo Taco color back then. Live Love Polish sold a bunch of different brands too, yeah you probably know all of this 😂

I believe originally the brand owner did a collaboration polish with Starrily called Zyler the Cat but once she started her own brand, she made a new version of it!

I paint the underside because when I flip it over, it looks smooth as if it's already got top coat on it (and I don't have to waste my top coat on a swatch stick!) 🥰

I'm surprised at myself for liking the chunkier glitters the most while swatching these, because I haven't really worn them too much haha! Maybe it's time to give them another try!
