Swathi Sangeethotsavam 2017 - Flute - Amith Nadig - Deva Deva Kalayami

One of the highlights of the 2017 edition of the Swathi Sangeethotsavam, the music festival conductged at the Kuthiramalika Palace in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, every year from the 4th of January until the 13th, was an amazing flute concert by the brilliant young flautist Sri Amith Nadig and his cracking team of co - artists Sri S.R.Mahadev Sarma, Cherthala Sri Krishnakumar, Manjoor Sri Unnikrishnan, Sri Somasekhar Jois and Sri Ananthapadmanabhan.
Here, we have a brilliant rendition of the popular song by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal, Deva Deva Kalayami in Mayamalavagowla, with rapid fire rounds of adventurous and at times outlandish swarams, which left the members of the large audience mesmerized.

The video editor needlessly keeps changing the video angle every 2 or 3 seconds. It gives a horrible headache. Absolutely unnecessary. Are his fingers/brain jobless and wants to do busy work? Absolutely enthralling rendition. Never had a flautist this good in ages.
