Might be an old comment, but... IRL they see you with a weapon like that and you're dead, you don't get a chance to drop it, nor do you get a warning to drop it. They either hit you with less-than-lethal, or they kill you.

You should definitely check out Elite Force, it's a Swat 4 mod that increases the realism, gives you a whole ton of features, and even includes fixed Co-op if you have a buddy that wants to do a session with you including playing through the campaign .
