The red streak actually looks really cool in your hair. I’d be totally interested in hearing about temporary dyes! I just bought some hair paint wax as an alternative to permanent dye. Although i love my natural hair color (chestnut brown) i feel 10 times happier with colored hair. Feels like i can really shine lol 💙💜💚🧡

I'm having a super hard time staying with one product line... or even just sticking to the same product routine daily.. I've found that MOST products work in my hair if I do the techniques that my hair loves... So just wondering which product line you would choose... Also, have you ever used Amika??

i wish i could afford these products or ones like them, but its just not in the budget. i had gotten my curls doing what i wanted them to do more when i was using maui moisture. (my curls are a new thing that happened in my 40s, so its taken some time to figure them out). when i ran out of the mm, i used various "curly hair" products from herbal essence, garnier, etc because i am a coupon shopper and had gotten them really cheaply. my curls all but went a way and i couldn't figure out why until i realized it was the cheaper products. so i had planned to go back to mm when i got paid. i was looking for something in my stock pile and found some mm curl quench s/c i had purchased because they were clearanced to 99c each. i just used them friday night and already, my curls are behaving a little better. products really do matter, but unfortunately, so does budget.

Thanks for this! I hadn't bought any Mop Top products initially b/c of the glycerin but now that the weather's turning colder, I just ordered the custard to try it out. (I'm only about 5 weeks in, with 2A/*maybe* 2B hair, and still very much in the transition & experimenting phase!) And sure, it would be fun to learn more about temp dye!

I just received the mop top sample set in the mail today. Going to wait till I get a day were I can wash my hair in the afternoon so I can air dry (still trying to train my hair to go longer between washes). Your hair is so cute!

Question: I part my hair into many sections to apply product evenly. I always wonder how that works w/ the method you use. It looks like the back of your hair gets the most product, then the front & then the center gets the leftovers on your hand. True? Does it feel evenly dispersed?

Is the custard hydrating enough that you don’t need a leave in conditioner? My hair is so dry I worry about frizz it I don’t use a leave in 😅

i had this custard, it has a bit of moisture to it but if your hair is like mine (3b dry tangly ringlets) it wont be enough moisture and wont help in detangling, i never used it withoit a leave in or a cream

The custard is awesome, but I’ve never used it without also using the MopTop leave in alongside it. I’d say just use a leave in if that’s what you need. Everyone’s hair is different so do what you know works for your hair.

I just tried Mop Top for the first time and felt like I needed to use the leave in after rinsing out the conditioner. The custard would not have been enough to soften my hair as it is meant to offer extra hold.

Hello! I exercise almost every day and my hair gets all wet and nasty from sweating so I can't go more than one day without washing it... I feel like I have curly hair (if I don't use heat it naturally forms curls, although pretty loose and frizzy) so I would like to bring the curls more to life and style it that way more often. Do you think having to wash my hair every day will have negative results on bringing up the curls? Any tips? Thanks.

This was such a helpful video, thank you! Did you feel like there was a difference between the original Gentle Shampoo and the Salon Gentle shampoo? Also, why are we not supposed to use the conditioner as a leave in? After rinsing out the conditioner, I felt like I needed to use the leave in to add moisture and softness - and don't always want to have lots of products - using the conditioner as a leave in (instead of buying the leave in) would simply things....

Because the PH is way too low and will deteriorate your hair. However! There are a ton of “LEAVE IN” conditioners that have a higher ph that match your hair (5) and will not damage your hair over time.

Rachel McCracken I just used to today. Feels a little strange when I put it in. Kind of sticky, immediately which was strange, but after I dried it I didn’t have any crunch either and I used gel too.

I love Mel from manes by mel! I My hair is not nearly curly like hers (mine is almost just like courtney's, except mine gets frizzy😫) but Mel's tips have still helped me a lot. She says she is not strictly curly girl, because she colors her hair, but for me, that doesn't effect how helpful her videos are. Good luck on your hair journey!
