Love how you aren’t doing any KZbin bs such as click bait thumbnails, like and subscribe, not inserting yourself into videos at all for self promotion. It’s just pure great content. Absolute king shit dude

I really enjoy watching Coach McKirdy's coaching style and training, he is incredibly analytical while also not overworking his athletes and having them train on feel and keeping it easy. The training does remind me of Ben Rosario and the NAZ elite, which I think has been very strong too for the marathon. Best of luck to Harvey and John on the fall marathons (I'll be at Boston too)!

There's a reason that coaching styles and some sessions look similar to NAZ... Ben has been a profound influence to my coaching and training. He's actually the one who gave me the idea to start my own coaching service - he told me to do it back in July of 2015 when we sat for coffee. While we may have different ideas in aspects of fitness development... racing... there's absolutely no denying his success as a coach and it's a vision I want to develop with our professional squad as well as with sub elites and developmental athletes looking to BQ or run their first "evers."

That's awesome to see the connection between you two! I've seen the "McKirdy Trained" name in the past, but watching these videos and connecting the face to the name along with getting to know the personalities more has been both entertaining along with educational. Other training groups are very protective and secretive about their training and philosophy, so it is great to see the workouts and what works for the best runners.

You may have answered this in another video, but why do they all run with traffic instead of against it? Not being able to see cars coming always freaks me out, even if there is a decent shoulder like on this road.

There is no answer. It's just the side that has all the quarter mile marks out to 16 miles.

What's a winning time in Boston-2"10 ish??
@joelgriffitts13853 жыл бұрын
Depends on wind etc. It's a straight course, so a great tailwind got Ryan Hall a 2:04 in 2011...and he came in 4th. The winner in 2018 (Yuki Kawauchi) got 2:15, with the wind (and freezing rain) blowing straight at him.
