That was great ladies! I never knit sweaters for myself because I hate measuring. I may try to do that now. This simplified it!

I REALLY wish I knew this information before I knit a couple sweaters. Would have saved me some heartache, but I always tell myself “lessons learned “. I love the tip about measuring a sweater you love the fit of and using it as a template to find a similar fitted sweater pattern. Thanks ladies.

Once again you are giving me some information that I didn't understand - positive and negative ease. Thank you so very much! I truly love these episodes!

Great episode gals, my first sweater didn’t fit but since then I’ve done measurements. Awesome tip.

Thank you! Following now this was so helpful. Knitting my 2nd sweater ever. 1st one was for my toddler and this one is for my dad...big difference. I had my mom help me measure one of his older tops that fit good. But as I look at my product...im unsure this video set my mind at ease. I did good....it will fit!

Thanks as always, Ladies! I knew this but never really checked it. Kind of like you. Just guessed the smaller size! Will do this from now on!

thank you, loved this and Amy's class's are amazing. I'm knitting a custom fit cardigan now and i'm so happy with it.

I did do a custom fit sweater where you plug all of your measurements into a computer program, pick the style of sweater you want and it makes a pattern just for you. It's the only sweater that ever fit me. Think I'll stick to the poncho idea. LOL

Great episode! Measuring is so essential for proper fit, but I never realized some patterns may not be right for me! Love the poncho! Perhaps the Grocery Girls could do that as a KAL in the future! 🙋🏻♀️

I love the short and to the point posts you are doing. This was very helpful..... what if the pattern already has ease built in ex. 3” of ease.... is that added to any ease you’ve listed?

I'm a beginner but I just hold my knitting up against my body to measure. If I'm using flat needles I just transfer the stitches to a long piece of yarn to try it on or hold it against myself. I also use a Jersey or cardigan I love and hold my new knitting up against that garment to make it the same length.

I don't want to know my measurements, I'm still working on the last 20lbs of baby weight. She might be 15 but I still have hope ;-)

Good information! Perhaps that is why I haven't liked some of the sweaters that I have knit

So this is part of what has kept me from taking the plunge to try my first sweater...question. How does one go about "knitting in more ease" as Jodi mentioned at the end? What are those calculations?

I didn't hear anything about arm length and if your measurements are different how do we fix that? Thanks for the information.

As always, this was great. But I prefer the old format and length. I definitely check for GG podcasts too - please dont abandon those longer, chattier, and more diverse videos - but this series of short, very specific tutorial style videos isn't as much fun. Still love you girs, tho.

I've been trying to find a tutorial about short rows for someone whose back is sloped (so sweaters are "short" in the back). Can you help with that? I know that the short rows are done on the upper part but don't know how to "do the numbers."

Craftsy! Please bring back the old Off Our Needles format. This one is boring! I like the chatter and not the tutorials.
