So nice you are back!! Love your oatmeal sweater, such a staple piece. I am going to join your KAL for sure. I am also going to cast on a skirt no.1 but I am only getting the mohair for it February 5. The Puro cardigan also looks very tempting. I have yarn for the Mila Hooded Vest but I am thinking to do that pattern in the recommended yarn next winter and instead use the yarn I have for the Puro. So many options lol
@Goodknits_3 күн бұрын
Clearly we are into the same patterns right now! 😂😂 I won’t be casting on my skirt until next week as well. And I definitely recommend the Puro. It knits up so fast.

Ooh the KAL is so exciting! I've been wanting to knit the Cognac Sweater for so long -- I got some hand-dyed fingering yarn to use for it last March and have been having difficulty finding a mohair/alpcaca to hold with it... This will encourage me to find something though!! :)
@Goodknits_3 күн бұрын
Perfect motivation to finally knit it! Happy to hear you will join ❤️

I think the KAL sounds fun! I’ve been wanting to do an all mohair sweater for a bit, and have been waffling on what pattern - this could be a great way to make that decision easy

So happy you are back and knitting up a storm! 😊 I’d love to know how you like the Gerard Garn Kid Seta, particularly if you are usually sensitive to mohair. I’m always on the hunt for a very soft silk mohair.
@Goodknits_3 күн бұрын
Will keep you posted! I haven’t worn anything with the kid seta yet but I do like the feel of it while knitting. Nothing will beat Isager mohair though for softness

Just finishing up the Kumulus O-neck in KfO held double (yarn chicken edition*) or would jump into this KAL. *major drag since Knitting for Olive hard to get in the states - purchased mine in Montreal last June

Oh no! So stressful with the yarn. Hope that works out.

Welcome back! It's a good thing that you can take time off. Knitting should be enjoyable and inspiring, not a job you feel you have to do. As you see, we are still here.

The difference in gauge I am getting between knitting flat and in the round can be quite drastic- to obtain the same stitch count I must go up even 4 sizes (in mm). Swatching in the round is annoying but I know I have no choice, especially if I use pattern which has both flat and in the round knitting. My best method for finding a right size needle relatively quickly is when I am using fake in-the-round technique intoduced by Roxanne Richardson in a long swatch. I start knitting my swatch flat, and after 10 cm I start working in the round, changing needle size every 10 cm, testing 2 or 3 needle sizes . On one longer swatch I can observe swatch changing its size and can match my flat piece with in-the -round piece easily.

How oh how did you take out your neck line ? I have the same issue with a top down construction sweater and have same issue with the finished neck ribbing. Need help!!!
@Goodknits_Күн бұрын
Did you knit the neckline before as part of the rest is the sweater or added it after everything else was done? For mine I added mine after since this is drop shoulder so all I had to do was pick out the bind off and unravel and start over. If your neckline is actually part of the rest of the sweater it becomes more difficult but I think you could add a lifeline at the bottom and then join new yarn and knit upwards, but I’ve never done it before!
