Truck driver here! Pro tip! When you get back into your truck and not going back out any time soon, down grade to your normal clothes and with your heater on. You want to warm your body, not your outer garmets. You won't be warming up quickly because it's heating your jackets and such before your body

FWIW, these random lumps that appear under the skin are common in certain breeds after they reach middle aged (6, 7 years). They're not cancer but lipomas -- fatty cysts. My pit bull suddenly got covered in them. Normally vets recommend not removing them unless they're causing the dog some distress. They seem like they could be drained but they actually have the consistency of (for lack of a better comparison) silicon breast implants. They have to be removed surgically so there's always a risk of post-op infection. In Auggie's (my pit's) case, he had two large ones in his arm pits so it caused him some issues when he laid down. They were surgically removed. Poor Auggie had to wear both an Elizabethan Collar and a belt with drain bottles and hoses for ten days.

I was in Sweden, Gothenburg, the last week of Novemeber and it had just started snowing on my last day there! I got to lucky to miss most of it! I still hit a huge dump in Norway on the drive home, about 30 cm, but that was for just a few hundred km.

... end of November winter was starting to set in and there was snow in the hills. Then comes December 1 and we have a weather front come in and is is 22C, unheard of and broke all records for Dec 1. Massive rains and snow melting like in the spring thaw and flooding roads washed out, you may have seen, Vancouver was cut of from the rest of the country, the major routes will take months to reopen so all the truck traffic for about 6, 7 hours is on two lane roads and small communities have traffic like they have never experienced before. I drive a log truck and the melt equaled muddy roads that they didn't get graded before it froze again and so consequently we have very rough roads in the bush. Normally with the snow we have smoother roads than in the summer. As more snow comes Jim the grader operator has his work cut out for him, hopefully it won't take long for the snow to build up. We had our first -18 in the bush in the early morning, 4am Friday Dec 10.. I am like you and not a fan of the cold. lucky that where I live here in Penticton, down here in the valley bottom if it get to -10, that is cold and if we get -15 that is bloody cold. Where would you migrate to, Spain, Morocco. I think there must be something not right with the heater in the truck, you should be able to get it like a sauna in there. ..... It is always unnerving when a pup gets something and we can not ask them questions. Lumps can also just be build up of fluid. .... you certainly have driven all sorts of trucks, missed that you did plow work last year. I've got a miniature Daschund ( his names Alfie !), and he's seemed a bit down this last week ( he's 9 years old). He's normally a crazy little dog, but not so the last few days. I think its because he's been for walks in this very cold weather and its chilled his joints. Seems to be picking up a bit now after spending days lying by the fire ! Pets are such a worry, they cant tell you whats wrong can they ! As regards snow, I love it, as long as I'm sitting by the fire with a large Scotch ! Take care Cassie ! XX

Hi Cassie. I don't know what to say now, you have shared so much information. Surely not everyone is happy with the climate in their home town. There are jobs that can solve the problem of bird life, but unfortunately it's more tourism and hospitality. You, as a lover of your work, I don't know if you could do it by providing work, if only with two businesses of your own. It's not easy to describe the bond with an animal that gives back double everything, love and care. You have to be able to read the eyes of any living thing, if it had a serious problem you would know after eight years, but of course it's better to have a professional to reassure you. I can't comment on tattoos, I accept every person as they are. As far as I understand what I know from tattooed people, every tattoo has its own meaning, its own story. No need to keep albums and always have your favourite memories to hand. Thank you for once again sharing a little piece of your personality and allowing me to spend some time with you. Have a safe trip and take care, there are a lot of crazy people on the roads!

Hi Cassie, nice video again as always. I really hope your dog is ok. I can for sure understand why you are worried. Pets feel like family, and you want the best for them. I'm from the Netherlands , we don't get temparatures that cold as in Sweden. Its winter now. There is no snow currently. We've had a couple days when temparatures are minus zero, but right now its 6 degrees. So when you're fatup with the freezing cold in Sweden, come visit the Netherlands 😉 I will keep my distance in traffic. I am a driver (courier) for a big American company. Cassie, a little tip. Try taking off your jacket and beanie when you return to your heated cab. When you keep them on and you go outside again, your body is used to having warm clothes on when its warm. So if you step outside into -15 again, the effect they have in keeping you warm is degraded. It got hammerd into me when doing basic training for the military. And from expierence i can say it works :3

My little dog lived to 19 and he had some lumps which the vet said were just fat and nothing to worry about. As dogs have to be put to sleep to operate I was advised that unless it was life threatening better to leave. Older dogs can have personality changes from the anaesthetic. Never driven a European cab over but by time North American trucks got into the 70's the heaters can get it way hotter than you want and that is at -40C. Earlier trucks the aluminium frames twisted in the cold. Drafts was the big problem. If you ever see a video of Canadian truckers you will see that most are driving in T-shirts and I know some that take their boots off and drive in slippers or one fellow just socks.

Viggo probably just has a few cysts, generally nothing to be concerned about, my girlfriends Norwegian Elkhound (and meny other elkhounds) is prone to getting them. Really simple surgical procedure to have the effected gland removed.

idea for your cold discomfort, try a thick scarf. I also wear warm cap, gloves, heavy coat. But without my handmade scarf I'll be nursing a sore throat and feeling cold all day. Good to see you are coping with this inclement weather everyone seems to be having earlier this year and hope nothing bad is going on with Vega as he is such a lovely wee fellow and if its bad then, you and us will miss him terribly. We had snow forecast in and around Aberdeen, Scotland but closer to the coast where I am situated , it came and went in 48 hours and as a precaution I did not go out - no where and no one needed my ugly mush but then that is not unnatural as I am heavily bearded - winter camouflage. It is Christmas Day in Calgary, AB Canada. The temperature right now is -27C, tonight it's getting down to -35C. It isn't usually this cold, and our cold snaps normally last less than a week, but I think today's temperatures will keep you from coming to Canada. Viggo was having fun while you were skateboarding. In the snow, we all got to slow down and drive for the conditions. One night I had a light load on and at times had to slow to 30 kph and nobody complained because the road was a sheet of ice. That night I saw 8 trucks in the ditch and 2 of them were plow trucks. Hope you never see that out there.

Hi Cassie. Yes always take care and keep distance on the road. Especially know, x-mas 2022 when they said the weather where you live or drive the weather reports has gone up to an yellow warning. And when you are out on the road. Be extra carefull and look out forthe black ice! (Svart is på vägarna). About viggo if the vet told you it´s ok, don´t worry. even dogs can get s c lipomas (s ka fettknölar) We on the other hand who lives up in northern sweden where it gets -20 to -35 have all the reasons to migrate. There are many of us who spen x-mas and the new year in thailand. Or save money so we can buy a flat or house somewhere in spain during the winters to come once we are retiered.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my dear. This will be a bit blue for me but very good at the same time. Both daughters and families will be here in the area. That will be the best as I have a 20 month old grandson and his 7 week old granddaughter here for cattlefornia. Sadly this will be the first Christmas without my father. He passed away on Father's Day after along series of issues. Getting thru without him will be strange but to add insult to injury my mother had a stroke 5 weeks before Christmas. She spent 2 months with her siblings 900 miles away and enjoyed that. Thank goodness, but she is still 800 miles from home as we speak. Tentatively she goes to a rehab center tomorrow so will be under an hour from her family rather than two. It will be a lonely day for me.
