I currently am studying at the University there, every day I see the singing lady I remember my grandmother back home. The thought of life forcing her into singing alone is enough to break my heart. Especially tody, thats why I locked this video up. 9 months later she is still there. I just hope that she is happy.

You see more black people in one video in Uppsala than all videos of Stockholm combined Sweden is very segregated
@letswalkaroundstockholm3 жыл бұрын
It is segregated indeed.
@newperspective59183 жыл бұрын
It is segregated economically in neighbourhoods within towns but generally not between towns. Uppsala and Stockholm probably has similar percentages of black people (if you count Stockholm area rather then the strict city limits). I think the difference you see is just a matter of scale. Since Stockholm is about 5 times as large as Uppsala the city center of Stockholm the segregation becomes more visible. The larger the town the larger the "rich" central areas and the further away from the center the more poor areas lay. E.g. In Uppsala the poorer area "Gränby-Kvarngärdet" lies about 1.5 - 2 km from the central station (20 min by walk, 5 min by bike), In Stockholm the poorer area "Östberga" lies about 7 km from the central station (1h 30min by walk, 30 min by bike and 20 min by metro). Unfortunatley there is higher unemployment among people born abroad in Sweden which leads to a cultural segregation together with the economical segregation.
