quick tip; when everyones lights flash repeatedly, that means the ghost is hunting, and he will not stop until hunt time is over. you have to hide during the hunt, in openable closets or behind doors or whatever, and do not talk in voice chat at all! if you talk, the ghost can hear it and will hunt in that direction. to survive, just follow those steps. TIPS: Don't say the ghosts name when you're trying to contact it, it'll just make it angry - instead just say "are you here?" When lights start flickering (so either your flashlight or the houselights) it means the ghost is hunt/haunting you, you will have to hide in lockers/closets or in your nearest room. Flashlight off, make no sound, crouch in a corner, until the hunting is over. This will usually take 20 seconds. You kept walking into the ghost when it was hunting thus getting you killed. Turn lights on in rooms that you're in to keep sanity, and turn them off when you leave the room - too many lights at once will trip the power. If the ghost says "attack", "kill" or "death", HIDE. It means the ghost is hunting or about to start hunting. Flashing lights also mean the ghost is hunting. if you need them and if you play again + i think they work but not 100% i comented on DanTDM to whis this so i hope it helps you

Tips: When you want to talk to a ghost or make him talk, don't say his name, it only angers him. When you hear this 3:25 and your flashlight starts flickering, hide or run, cause this means it's hunting, and it's only purpose it's to kill, when your light stops flickering, run straight to the exit and check your sanity.

As well as saying it's name and responding to it while it's haunting (like screaming or some shit) when le haunting begins like lights flickering do not shout and run/hide yourself. If you have the lowest sanity and you're still inside the house even if you're with the squad, the ghost will kill you first since you've experienced a lot of paranormal activities.

If the average sanity is at 0%, the ghost may try to hunt every 10 seconds or so, thus making sanity pills in larger buildings (like asylum, where getting to the van is really long) super important

Scary game! Been playing for a few weeks now. My brother and I just finished playing a few maps. Little ghost girl came crawling around a corner and killed him right next to me. Next map, I was trapped in a small storage closet, lights went out, no flashlight because I was setting up other equipment, and I hear a deep, female voice hissing and growling in my ear. Whole time, I was just yelling at my brother, "Open the door, Open the door, Open the door!" If anyone is interested, here are several tips: Activity level 10 does not ALWAYS mean the ghost is hunting you. When the lights and flashlights start flickering, HIDE! The ghost is hunting you. Close doors behind you to break line of sight. Running can anger some ghosts. If you're having trouble finding ghost orbs, they will ONLY show up in the ghost's room and are about the size of a single pixel that flies at an angle across the monitor in the truck. When you place a video camera (solid green light means it's on) in the ghost's room, EVERYONE should go to the truck to check for orbs. You can lay an extra flashlight (turned on), the emf reader (turned on) and ghost writing book on the ground within your video camera's view and monitor them from the safety of your truck. (Ghost is hunting if you see the flashlight flickering). If you hear heart beats, the ghost is coming right at YOU! Break line of sight immediately or accept your fate. The Ouija board depletes your sanity with each question you ask. "No response detected" on the spiritbox means the ghost is too far away to answer you or is choosing to NOT answer. You must hear a response for it to count as evidence. Amateur maps=5 min (displayed in truck above camera monitor) to find ghost room before ghost is active. Intermediate=2 min. ghost becomes agitated/dangerous sooner. Professional=0 min. ghost is instantly angry and dangerous. Dead players will only see the ghost in the "spirit realm" when it is actively hunting/targeting a living player. Let me know if y'all would like some more tips and strategies on here. Adding more tips at request: The crucifix will stop a ghost hunt but ONLY if you place it on the ground in the ghost's room when the ghost is inactive. The crucifix must be within 3 meters of where the ghost will spawn for a hunt. The catch? The ghost can spawn in adjacent rooms, closets and foyers if the ghost room is small enough. Place extra crucifixes in adjacent areas to cover your bases. When the ghost walks near/over the crucifix at the start of a hunt, it will disappear and the hunt is over. A crucifix can stop a hunt twice before breaking. There is currently no visual indication for when the crucifix breaks so be careful! Watching other player's head cams as they search rooms with other items can show you ghost orbs which lets you identify the ghost room instantly. Parabolic microphone can help narrow a search area. The higher the number, the louder the sound. Other players won't trigger the microphone. 3.0 and higher are good indications of the direction the ghost is likely in. NOT 100% reliable for identifying ghost room location but can definitely guide you in the right direction. Sound sensors are good for detecting noise in a room. They have a pretty big area of coverage. You can see noise levels in the truck above the activity screen. Each sensor is labeled with the room you placed it in. A red bar climbs up as more noise is produced in the room. This can help track the ghost's movement in an area. The infrared sensor has no graph or indicators on the truck. They are really only meant to show you if the ghost has entered the same room you are in while it is invisible. Works well in combination with the spirit box to know the ghost is within range of hearing you. Players can trigger this sensor. Salt can be used to track a ghost's footprints with a UV light but only for a few seconds and do not count as fingerprint evidence. It can be used to identify which direction a ghost just went. Finding the Ouija board is recommended as you can ask the ghost where it is. The answer it gives is the ghost room so keep a sharp eye out for the board! If multiple people are nearby when the board is being used, sanity will be drained from a random person per question. If you'd like a creep factor, try asking the Ouija board how many ghosts are in the room with you. More than one person can hide in a room during a hunt. Just make sure the door is shut, your lights are off and you stay quiet. AVOID HIDING IN THE SAME SPOTS TWICE!! The ghosts search the areas you hid in during the previous hunt. You do not need to collect your equipment once the mission is complete. When you're ready to leave, then just do so. As long as you didn't die, you won't lose any equipment. When you do die, you only lose the equipment you brought on that mission. Yes, that includes all the equipment on the truck you didn't get around to using. But, this only applies if the one who died provided the equipment. You can take pictures of ghosts through outside windows and see equipment left in rooms such as the ghost writing journal and emf detector. Smudge sticks must be used near the ghost. Have a lighter or candle lit in one tool slot, switch to the smudge sticks and press the secondary action button (the button you use to place the journal and video camera down) to burn the smudge sticks. When burned near the ghost before a hunt, there will be no ghost hunt for 90 seconds. When burned DURING a hunt, the hunt stops for 6 seconds before resuming. This can give you enough time to adjust equipment, get one last piece of evidence, complete an objective or hide quickly. As always, let me know if you would like any more tips. Here's a few hints for future use. I learned the hard way, so hope this helps you out: *The spirit box only works in the dark. *You can ask questions without saying the name: the name is to anger or incite it to act. *The game is CONSTANTLY listening to your mic, whether it's through the in game mic or not. So be careful of what you say. *I suggest looking up a list of the recognizable verbal cues: there is a LOT of things you can say that the entity can respond to. *There are certain phrases that can be used to get answers. *DON'T use the word "command" unless you want to piss it off. *If the lights all start flashing, hide. You're being hunted. *The front door will lock when being hunted; so don't try to escape. *Don't turn too many lights on, you'll flip the breaker. *Activity can happen in any room: that doesn't mean that's where the ghost is. Look for higher EMF readings and temperature changes. *There's an audio bug, sometimes it won't recognize certain accents. You can change that by downloading something from microsoft. *There's another audio glitch where you sometimes can't hear your partners. Verifying the game files will fix that sometimes. *The entity can appear in many forms; a shadow, mangled body, etc. Sometimes, it'll even mimic YOU. *There is a Ouija board in some of the houses. You can actually get responses from the spirit by asking it questions. *The entities have trigger questions with the Ouija board. If your question is met with the board being turned off and the lights being flashed, you've asked a wrong question and angered it. *If you bring stuff to a haunt and die (co op) you will lose your items. *You have 5 minutes from the time the front door opens before the spirit gets aggro. Try and get your environment settled before then. 2 minutes for intermediate. No timer for professional. *Keep an eye on your sanity: the lower your sanity, the higher the chance you'll be attacked or singled out/see or hear things. *You can hold objects AND have your flashlight on, using your secondary action button. *Just because you're hidden in a room or closet does NOT mean you're safe. Entities can and will open doors to find you. *Playing in groups is WAY more fun and way scarier. Have fun and happy hunting!!!
