The father-infant bond is more precious than we have realized and helps raise the entire family. ❤

One thing I find interesting in Sweden is how men will do housewrok and are not afriad to be involved with there shildren. In the US people will comment how romantic it is when the husband decides to fix dinner for a special event or clean up around the house. In Sweden it seems the men are more inclined to help with household tasks. It is more like a partnership. In the past in the US, women would stay at home and take care of the house- cook clean etc. while the man worked. Now they both work, however women still have the primary task of keeping up with the housework. Even though she has just put a full day of work.

Thank you for sharing! It hasn’t always been like that. While attitudes in society change and equality has become more prominent, we still have a fair bit to go in many areas.

I live in the US right now, and I’m doing a little bit of research on Sweden. This alone makes America’s parental leave system look like a joke. I wish we had a government that cared about the people like Sweden does.

As the oldest brother, I always had a maternal instinct. My parents were divorced and had many issues, but my life aquired meaning when my little brothers came to me first. Handling this responsability only ameliorated my masculine qualities. I can’t wait until the day my little brothers are married, then I can finally rest from their endlessly creative ability to come up with bullshit! I am thinking of adopting. Little ones are a blessing!

Sweden 💙💛🇸🇪 As soon as I finish my degree and get some experience with an internship, I will catch the first flight to Sverige. I just have to work for this treasure a little bit more!!! Two more years of networking, programming , and money saving then I can see your golden sun paint your flag in the blue skies! My tired heart shall not know silence until then!

You forgot to mention that Swedish parents are forced *by law* to split parental leave 50/50. Regardless of how much of a negative impact that might have on them financially.
