@@endi2926 I do music, and I can say you're wrong. Firstly, not everyone can make an instrumental like this. Swedish House Mafia's new sound is there and it's fully present and you can easily hear it. Secondly, Abel has a wonderful voice, that's true, and certainly is a huge part in what the song is. However, Swedish House Mafia's production ALSO makes the song what it is. I'm sure plenty of producers in general, not just EDM ones, are technically skilled enough to make such an instrumental, however that's like saying that so many singers are able to sing like the Weeknd on this song. They are, but they're not the Weeknd. As you said, they don't have his voice, and in the the same way other people aren't Swedish House Mafia and they can't replicate their own unique sound. So, I'd disagree. It's definitely not all the Weeknd. Both Swedish House Mafia and Abel did an amazing job on the song along with everyone else involved in the writing process. Also, you don't need good vocals in order for the mix to sound good. Plenty of songs have no vocals and they sound fucking insane. Vocals aren't essential in music.

I've been producing for around 4 years and I can say that for this type of genre, VOCALS ARE SECONDARY!, the instrumental is what truly carries a track and what gives it some real power. If you give THEWeeknds Vocals and SHM's midi to a producer with 5 months of knowledge you'd get complete shit because they don't have a good grasp on how to make an amazing atmosphere with the help of pads and a darker bass and so on. This whole take is legit just someone who has never produced saying this : /
