Thank you for watching! p.s: Swedish music with English Subs is not easy to find. If you find videos with English Subs, there a higher chance that we will react to it. It's more convenient, but we will still also react to music without subs. Channel Membership: kzbin.info/door/QsmCKwNbJS-GmCfFZ9i7Pgjoin Buymeacoffee: www.buymeacoffee.com/maxsujyreact

If you are amazed by the yoik and Sofias ' listen to the wind' you really really should listen to Jonna Jinton. Her music is so captivating and her voice is magical

Lovely reaction! If you want to listen to more sami jojk, I suggest Marie Bojne with the jojk "Gula, Gula"! It'll blow your head off! Love from a swedish guy married to a sami woman, who is also a shaman!❤❤

It is a song written by the radical singer Woody Guthrie which is translated and changed by the Swedish singer Mikael Wiehe. She starts singing in Sami, switches to Swedish and ends with jojk. Sweden's future Queen Victoria sits in Swedish folk costume with several others from the royal house!

The dress you commented about in the front row, is the royal family in the "Sverigedräkten". A national version of the "folkdräkt", which is the pre-industrial peasant clothing, different depending on region to region and even village to village. Not all of Sweden have kept the use of this traditional clothing. In the next shot, you see the Sami folkdräkt in blue, red and yellow. Also different from tribes.

You're right in that she sings [with/to] Nature! And it is 'rare fantastic!' I love your different takes on music (and humor)! Visor, Folkmusik (-lore, etc.) You two are a rare "WOW!" And many Nordic people agree with that. 😊

"This Land is Your Land är en engelskspråkig sång skriven av Woody Guthrie 1940", so it's a translation of a song by Woody Guthrie, nothing wrong with that. The lyrics go through different areas of Sweden and returns to "This is your land, this is my land, this is our land", etc, quite nationalistic albeit not as extreme as some other forces in the world
@tovep9573
@tovep9573 8 ай бұрын
Not that nationalistic as she sang about herself and Sapmi as our land right after right wing nationalist SD politician Björn Söder had said that Sami people (and jews) were not Swedish. So it was a demonstration against those who claimed that Sweden only belong to certain groups of people.

You guys are soon more swedish than the Swedes after all these videos you make😄 Unfortunately this beautiful country is turning to an Arabic country now step by step and that is very sad. If it continues like this, there won't be much Sweden left in a few years. But thank you very much for doing these reactions, it's very nice to watch😊

A few decades ago Sofia Jannok was part of the duo 'Anna & Sofia' - both from the the same small town in the very North of Sweden where I also grew up. This is them performing a modern form of Samii joik - and the words are totally different from the Swedish language. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iofSpH6ElNGeopY

By the way, I live in the municipality of Rana in Norway. The name Rana is probably derived from the Saami GODDESS of Rana. In a park in our city, You will find a statue. Most people do not understand what it represents. It is actually a statue of the goddess Rana. Rana mean "green" or "greenish". And Rana was the green and fertile area for the Saami population who had Reindeer husbandry. Rana may also be translated as the daughter of spring and the daugther of Earth. They had three different goddesses. Rana Niejta or the daughter of Earth. Sala Niejta or the daughter of the Sun. And Saivo Niejta or the daughter of the underworld. Therefore, the Ume Saaamis said that they were the children of the Sun. The municipality of Rana was, by the way, an Ume Sami area. It's funny how thing is forgotten. The very name of my municipality is the name of a Saami goddess. But almost no one knows it today, with the arrival of the modern age. All that is left is a statue of her in a park in this little city. A statue which everyone passes without noticing it's deeper meaning. commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rana_Niejta_20200327_121009.jpg
