This was probably just a scheme to promote him in the US as well since he was already on a contract following the Swedish Idol competition. Basically one of Simon Cowells own already in other words.

What do you mean? He stopped being an ordinary guy after winning Swedish idol? Perhaps Swedish idol didn’t kick start his career as he hoped and now looking for better success else where. Regardless, he deserves to have a life long career, I could listen to his voice all day long

In translation it means "According to Kläfford the production company wanted to emphasize the years prior to the competition." so in essence this was the production company being all in on it. Chris doesn't have the freedom to do whatever he feels like as an artist. I bet he would like to but that's just not the reality behind the contracts in the Idol kind of showbiz. @@MGC-XIII Ramsberg is a hippie village? I lived not far from there for 10 years, and I never heard anything about hippies in the area. That look is pretty common among a certain type of Swedish men, though. I know a whole bunch who used to have that kind of hair and beard in their 20s and 30s, and then shaved the hair when it grew too thin (but kept the beard).

As far as I know the guy still lives about 30 minutes away from where I do. He lived there when he did this show anyway. He had already won the Swedish version of Idol before this. What was even more fun was my online friend of over 20 years competed this year as well. Ryan Niemiller. I've never met him in person but I was able to see his sets online before he made it big. So proud of what he has made of his life.
