Great! Very interesting to read the Lynar A1. Here in Turin we have an important collection, the Foà-Giordano, which contains a corpus of manuscripts coming from Augsburg (1640, the so-called 'Turin tablature') with some of Sweelinck's pieces.

Sorry for the late reply, yes this sort of staff with 6 lines is common in Dutch and English music of this time.

Perhaps i should clarify...what are The names of the lines&spaces. Was it based on lute tuning ?
