My mother and family have made this recipe for years. It's a staple at our family gatherings. I'm one of eight children, so we were pretty much our own party every time we got together. We call it Italian Cole Slaw. Not sure where Mom got the recipe. We add a little more veggie oil in the dressing, sprinkle more sugar on the raw cabbage and use cabbage, white onion, but no carrots. This is a yummy, yummy cole slaw that lasts about 2 weeks. I have never made the mayo one. Not when there's Italian Cole Slaw. Got me thinking of mom and missing her and our wonderful family memories. Thanks for sharing. Anyone trying this won't be sad they made it. :)

Italian coleslaw...how interesting. I wonder if it's because it gets so hot in Italy it would be deadly to have a mayo dressed salad sit outside?

I realized last year that I don't really like mayo-dressed cole slaw. Maybe it's the after taste, who knows? Vinaigrette cole slaw is another thing entirely, since it works well as a sandwich topper, too. And it lasts longer in the fridge. Hey lady...thanks for sharing the recipe. It's a Mocca Master Technivorm. It's probably the best coffee maker we've ever bought. However, I'll warn you, this is not an inexpensive maker
