I like quick trip in the early slot. It seems to germinate well but the plant vigor and size is on the small end. We plant 50% more in that first planting, some plants aren't making markettable ears. Being in Texas as we continue succession plantings, they get taller even with the same variety. I think it's day length. Our latest pest is the corn silk fly which caused 100% devestation on the last planting probably explaining local sweet corn shortages this year around July 4th. We're exclusively planting remedy for the fall season, it matures in 60 days for the first August 5 planting.

Don't you just love that first bite of sweet corn!?! Best method is cook for ten minutes and add butter and salt before first bite!
