I remember my mother signing this song. Every time she sang I cried, not sure why.

Let's just refer to them as 'talented' vs. 'old'. 👍

I just love them. My dad used to whistle “Winding Stream” and I never knew what the song was called. He was born in 1928 and died in 1998. I was in my early 20s and when I heard that song I sobbed. Sweet Fern, The Cannon-Ball, and Single Girl, Married Girl are my favorites

This my music. I play guitar in Maybelle's style on my guitar with the f-cut soundholes just like her. I've memorized many of these songs. I love to sit on my front porch and sing these songs. I sing Hank Williams, Carl Story, Roy Acuff and many more. These people and their songs are next to my heart. Carters were great folks, in my book, among the afore mentioned people, and I shall always sing and play their heartfelt songs & music. 👍😊

I appreciate the thumbs up! God, you folks (might) know how deep this music is in my heart. I weep alot over these people and their songs, their music. I've learned over 200 songs by heart. And I keep learning more. And on some quiet evening on the front porch, with a cold beer, I love to sing and play. My house sits back off the road, so I guess I don't hafta worry about getting rotten food thrown at me. My neighbors DO like it, if not love, my songs, I guess. Compliments are always positive. Good night.

Larry Paden Me as well! I always love to do a little “bassin’in” and take APs part when I sing Carter Family songs. His bass really completes their songs to me.

I’ve never seen a auto harp with both ends having strings.
@colinhaines93694 жыл бұрын
Jennifer Auld The Autoharp Sara played here is called the Guitaro. It was made during the folk revival and was an Autoharp meant to be held like a guitar. I have one myself and it’s extremely fun to play
@111JenA4 жыл бұрын
Colin Haines Wow! I bet that is fun! 😀
@mavjimbo11 ай бұрын
The manufacturers of auto harps redesigned the instrument because Maybelle would play it upside down because she thought it sounded better that way and was easier to play that way.
