Our minds can be our own worse enemy. One thing I learned in 73 years is to paint for myself and not for what I think others might want. You are a wonderful artist. What you call a mistake, your followers call a masterpiece. We ❤❤ everything you do. Big, small or tiny. Tiny is mighty.

I was thinking dainty scandi. It's lovely and very relevant. I'm not sure there is any of us creative types that haven't been exactly where you are right now. Maybe for different reasons, but the same downward slope. All we can do is at the bottom, gather yourself and go right back up. Burnout sucks. We will all be here cheering you back to the top even if we ourselves are somewhere in the middle. When we lift each other, we win.

The winter blues are a real thing. I suffer with it every winter season. You are not alone in this journey. It took me a few years to understand that sunlight was very important for me to have a good mental state. Something that helps me is doing many forms of art/crafting. Jigsaw puzzles, coloring books, painting with various mediums, working with resin, crossword puzzles, even gaming I give myself many many options for this time of year. Also, I tend to work small when the blues hit. Small allows me to complete something in one sitting and gives me some sense of accomplishment for the day.
@IridescentJen3 күн бұрын
I'm glad you mentioned working small. That is one of the smartest things to do to set ourselves up for success and I always forget. I love my small accomplishments as much as my big ones, but in the moment of sitting down to art I start thinking big and overwhelming myself before I even begin. And often the reason I sat down to paint is for stress relief and brain-soothing 🤣
@rainoftranquility77353 күн бұрын
@IridescentJen thanks. I used to do the same thing. Overwhelm myself with big projects. Once I started working small, I felt much better.

I have had an awful 2 years with the loss of my Mum, Husband, puppy and 3 clients. One client was suicide on my shift. I used to eagerly get into my art, but I’ve been struggling with art and everything. Last week I realised I needed gift tags for Christmas so I painted them. Small is working for me at the moment. Remember, you have a community here. We are here for each other and you. Love love this painting.

I am so sorry for your loss. Last year I lost 2 close friends, my mom, my dad and my dog. So I get it. Chose simple easy fun designs and it really helped. Hugs.

This is just my opinion. Paint what makes you happy, film it…don’t film it. Do whatever you like. Life is too short to let KZbin (what other people might think) stress you out. Art should be about play, getting messy, experimenting, making mistakes and learning from them. This is beautiful work, I hope you find a path through this challenge.

Give yourself some grace. When I have had seasons of great discomfort it usually signaled an emerging spiritual change or discovery of something I need to change in my life. In the beginning of this year I had a very strong desire to paint again. It’s been six years since I put paint to paper. After some trial and error I found a way to paint at my bedside, where I spend each day. So on June first I started painting. It was very difficult and disappointing at first but then I began to look forward to it. Now it is my absolute favorite part of my day. After painting every day for almost six months, I am finally painting things I like, my mood is better and every day seems like a gift. Allow yourself to be, without judgement. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season ❤

Most people I know are struggling-a struggle that probably started in earnest back in 2015 or so and was exacerbated by the pandemic. This year has been particularly stressful for many thoughtful people. It takes considerable effort not to get caught up in rumination, and that energy drain affects everything. I am always interested in what you have to say and what you paint.

Ceecee, you are the first watercolor artist I started following during Covid shut down. You inspired me to experiment and not to judge myself, but just to enjoy the process. Watercolor has become a great gift for me. I crave it when I am too busy with other things. I shared my newfound hobby with friends in cheery notes and bookmarks during lockdown. I have branched off into fluid acrylic art and some collage and keep exploring other mediums. Do what brings you joy and don't be critical. Every piece is not a masterpiece, but a step towards one!! You encouraged me so much and that has brought joy to myself and those I share my art with as well. You are an amazing artist and a beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing your journey. Keep smiling and keep painting. Maybe another medium is calling you as well?🤷🏼♀️🩷

What a lovely card! I love almost every color combination you come up with, I’m frequently inspired by your color choices. I’ve looked back at my own sketchbook, and I enjoy the pages that I’ve based on either your colors, or your designs. Color tends to get me through some bad moments- it almost doesn’t matter what the design looks like at those times. Smaller works better for me, too, at those times. I have a few pages of 2x2” designs, snowflakes, or just blobs, made with a waterbrush while I’m cosy on the couch. While I am deeply concerned about events to come, I also try to find hope in everyday wonders, like the gigantic maple leaves I saw recently, or a pretty sunset.

A hearty ditto to many of the previous comments; I always find your videos encouraging, inspiring and calming. We've come to the end of a 2 year-long house remodel - just tiny touch-ups left to do - and I've been thinking about what forms my art will take now that I have time to dedicate to it with consistency. Where to begin? Start small and don't worry if things don't work out like I want them to. And yes, winter's cold, grey weather (northern Indiana) and the current state of world affairs has an impact on our lives (great concern among many of us here in the US about the coming administration), so focus on hope is really necessary for me. And there's nothing wrong with hibernation, especially if hot chocolate is involved! Take care of yourself, do what you can, and have hope! Kay

My mind expresses itself as an artist but my hands can’t create what I want to produce because I’m lacking the gift. I know, through practice that I do improve, but I know my limitations. For a time, I would paint along with you & I did feel that rush of mind-hand performance in synchrony. I loved my journey with you. Whenever I see a new post from you, I get excited that you’re healing enough to post. You speak slower than in the early days; you’re much more reflective; you’re more unsure of what the end of the project will be - not because of lack of skill, but because the hands go differently than the mind. Be encouraged my friend - we follow you, not just because of the painting result, but more because you share the thought process of painting. I wish for you a most blessed Christmas season. Big hugs 🥰

Sometimes we need a change, a breath of fresh air...have you ever sculpted? (Air Dry Clay rec) or used plaster of Paris to make models...totally not what we would normally go for but a new learning can often inspire our creativity in new and refreshing directions and we come back to the love with a different energy...thank you for your videos

Cee Cee, I love your card. Many of us suffer with Seasonal Affective Disorder. There is just not enough direct sunlight in the winter, even for an outdoor person like me. A therapy lamp has made it possible for me to bear winters for the past thirty years, and I am wondering if you have considered this. I start out in the fall with 25 minutes in the morning and have worked my way up to an hour by spring. The most recommended lamp is a Carex Day Light Plus, and it really works for me. I hope you find your solution as well.

I love this so much, and just want you to know you are not alone. I feel like I'm sitting in this weird limbic space that I'm not sure how to navigate. What's happening in the world is so unsettling, and I know that's a part of it - but I also think that these times show up to help me learn how to slow down enough to just ride the wave. I tend to have a desire to push through the difficult times and not truly process them, but these days that has eluded me. It's been better when I can free myself of the expectations I put on myself. I love your work so much, and I hope you know how helpful it has been for me to simply play right along with you. xo
