Sweet Mama Dog Interacting with a 3yo DS child From Jim Stenson.

Life is full of special moments, open your eyes, open your mind and most of all, open your heart, you will see. I found this video online, I did not film it but I thought it was so special I had to put a song behind it. To me, the female Lab is trying so hard to befriend the child. The boy is cautious but curious at the same time. The person who filmed the original video contacted me in January 2013 She is the mom, her name is Ana, her sons name is Hernan, and the dogs name is Himalaya. Watch when the dog puts her paw on the boys shoulder as if to say, I love you, everything will be ok. If your heart doesn't melt your not human. FYI: THE TEXT in the video was INSPIRED BY a beautiful little DS girl I met. She said to me "God didn't make a mistake when he made me" and her daddy told her, she was a "Gift from God". I REPEAT THIS WAS A QUOTE FROM A LITTLE DS GIRL. I had to edit the video to fit the song but its all original content and BTW this is my first VIDEO edit. I understand. My wife and I are both considered to be totally and permanently disabled due to spinal cord issues. Those in our respective families think we are both fine and that nothing is wrong with us. They turned their backs on us. So we turned our backs on them. We now have two golden retrievers who are both certified therapy and companion animals. Merrylynn, nobody understands unless they're going through it themselves - sadly. Sorry to ramble. Just wanted to say that I feel the exact same way about animals. Hang in there!

Dogs are extremely intuitive. They detect emotion/body language very well and can understand if someone is having trouble communicating. I love how the dog rolled over on to its side while sticking out its paw, as if to reassure the child that it wasn’t being aggressive.

This brought tears to my eyes. I have a DS daughter and this reminded me of how my dogs through her life have treated her. They all loved her. My current dog who is 13 and my daughter now 28 are best of friends. He always lays on the couch with his head in her lap. My cats love her too. They are always around her. Animals are so amazing, smart and loving. They know a good soul when they see one and yes she IS my gift from the Almighty. I have become a better person because of her and my animals too. ❤️🥰

I don't know anyone with the illness, but I feel like I can say that you Truely have made sacrifices, totally out of Love, and I'm talking about when the times were not easy ones, which I'm sure you've had as well. Sometimes we don't think about the difficult times, the sleepless nights, the countless hours of care and compassion on behalf of our loved one that we show, because they may not have anyone else.... I do try and show empathy and think about those times in behalf of others and you should be Lauded and appreciated! It's because of your love that she's in her twenties and thriving, comfortable, happy and at peace. Glad you had your little guys, (animals) to help along the way.....
