Really lovely! I am hoping to find a savory version to do a mushroom crepe. But this looks so muuch better than a lot of the banana pancake recipes I see out there. I am really happy I tripped over this video so I can explore further what you are about. I am vegan & GF and it can be challenging, but seems to keep getting easier thanks to smart women like you! Thanks for sharing. Oh and what kind of pan did you use? I am on the hunt for something that will work that well w/o sticking. I am in New Zealand but am from the States and can usually find what I want or have someone send things I need.
@FeastingonFruit

I have had a reader use these with savory fillings, but it sounds kinda strange to me. I have a potato-based tortilla recipe, I wonder if a potato-based savory crepe would be possible? I might have to try that. A mushroom filled crepe sounds delicious! And thank you for your kind words, vegan and GF is certainly getting easier by the day with so many new products and inventive bloggers. I use a Calphalon non-stick 12 inch skillet www.amazon.com/Calphalon-12-Inch-Nonstick-Covered-Omelette/dp/B00485D8HA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464558853&sr=8-1&keywords=calphalon+12+inch I've used it for a long time now and it's pretty good about not sticking without oil :)

In Norway we always use baking powder in our crepes. We call them pancakes as it is kind of a hybrid between a crepe and a pancake. We make them as large as your fryingpan here, and sometimes we make them really thin, or thicker, depending on your preference. Traditionally where I am from, we eat them with blueberry jam and sugar only. But in many other parts of Norway they have their own ways of eating it, I know some have bacon and syrup on theirs. Obviously I do not eat animals, but I sometimes use facon :) If you are out of bakingpowder, you can use sparkling water also, it helps :)

Is there anything that can be used instead of bananas? Also, pancakes always stick and burn to the pan for me, I don't use the teflon pan, I use a white non-stick pan, but honestly it sticks so much :///
@FeastingonFruit
@FeastingonFruit 8 жыл бұрын
+Mimijona I tried dates and that did not work. You could try just leaving the banana out and decreasing the water to 3/4 cup to keep the batter thick enough. Or actually using non-dairy milk instead would be even better. And if you don't have a non-stick pan that is really non-stick than the only option is to use a little bit of coconut oil in the pan first I think.
