Long locs are a lot of work I do admit, but I don't think I'll ever get rid of gorgeous locs. I really like my locs. They are down to my waist now and it was truly a journey to get here. So, I'll keep them. Especially, since I don't have the desire to ever, ever put heat in my hair again.

Your rationale for taking your locs out makes so much sense. I didn't grow up with locs. I was always a loose natural and from 14 - 32, 12 years, I cared for my hair myself and really learned how to care for it loose. If I hadn't had that experience before loc'ing my hair I probably wouldn't keep locs for very long myself. I hope you have fun as you continue to explore all that your hair can do.

Your hair looks amazing, and I think that you made the best decision for yourself. I started my loc journey recently but deep down I knew that I missed my loose natural hair. I was disappointed because I did not start the loc journey for a long time, and when I asked my sister what she thought, she said, "It's just hair do what you want." That was enough for me. Since I was still early in the process I didn't lose that much hair, but it felt great that I was back to myself. So to you and to anyone else who reads this, DO what you want to do with YOUR HAIR

Do what's best for you... I'm glad I got to see this because I just did starter locs on my 6yr old she wanted them after I started watching videos looking to make the journey myself. She's extremely tender headed and never wants her hair done. You were a great inspiration and I'm gonna show her this so she has all the information needed for her decision. By her being so young I'm worries she'll regret her decision and want to remove them but I want to fully support her decision on wearing and loving her natural hair despite her age. Thanks for this

Completely understand why you cut them! I had been doing my own hair since 6 years old...I went to the salon but I did up keep of my hair and my moms...I love doing hair now because of that but I began my loc journey last year because I discovered that my natural hair is fragile, I’m getting older, I’ve always wanted them, it’s ease of use to swim and workout daily as I do, and I like doing other people’s hair all the time NOT my own...I also have no regrets...you’re gorgeous! Since 10 years old now I understand. See I loc my dreads after I turn 18 years old, tht was the deal with my mother she felt like since I was 18 or turning 18 and I was out of night school I could do whatever with my hair, and she really didn't have any control over what to do with m6 hair anymore. See as a kid I really had no choice, and she felt tht I wasn't ready, so I had the weaves, well braids, doobies, and shit like tht, but she made an agreement with me, and thts what happen. I tried locking it before tht but she wasn't haven't tht, she made me take them out, and I loc well started my loc journey when I turn 18, I'm now 31, took about maybe 2 or 3 years for perms to grow out my hair and for my locs to become dreads, so I now understand why u took yours out. At 10 you started yours, I think if I had start I may have took mind out as well
