Awesome video - a lot of great content here (and new to me since i’m mostly mic’ing an amp or recording direct!) You did a great job going over the strengths and limitations of each technique but, to my ears the Blumlein was the richest sound! Very well done - looking forward to more!!

Thank you for the excellent detail in a short video. The panning and L/R channel comment was crucial! Also good to hear and know the divergent is exactly the spacing I want for a vocal up the middle. Thank you!

Very useful video, thanks for putting in the time! The only additional thing I'd love to see/hear is a direct comparison of all these techniques done with the same pair of mics - would have made detecting the differences in stereo imaging easier as the listener's ear wouldn't be drawn by the differences in frequency response.

When you change the type of mic, we can't tell how much of the difference we hear is due to the microphone model vs style of placement.

Thank you for making this video! Really useful information that I will look into! Can you do one on concert band/orchestra recording techniques? Thank you again for this!

Great info, I would like to see recording techniques for instrument and space specific recording. Like bras, woodwind, organs etc and taking the room out it or capturing a recording with great natural reverb

Mid side sounded warbly. Mid spaced sounded good.

Mid-side is so good until you collapse it into mono. Used ot for ages and then ran into that issue, now i tend to use Steve Albini's with the mics on the floor.
