To all the peeps dissing the audience - you do realize that to really really appreciate a song you need to LISTEN to it, that's why they aren't screaming and shouting appreciation DURING the song. They have the maturity to sit back and enjoy it unlike many of you posting here. The applause at the end IS enthusiastic. Oh yeah I'm over 40 and grew up with some of the greatest rock music ever to be created.

That's the price that technologies bring. Yeah, they help in many ways but the "feel" is missing from the place. Its the human element that makes music...and they should have turned the lights down except on him... I saw this tour live back in the day and it was not nearly so mechanical - although he is freaking better now than then, even.

Tom Fortin it´s easy... he´s just a guitar god... but his music don´t transmit nothing "more" than how good and technical he is. He could name this song summer in venus, or walking in the moon insteado summer song, and you won´t see any difference. Music is a question of transmit moods, identify your sensations with the music, to tell something.. and people even freaky guitar fans are never identified with his songs... could you go walking through the street whistling this song as a a feeling of summer???? You are simply impressed by his mastering of guitar, so that´s why people just simply watch.. but music is much more than that... there has to be a story to tell, and Satriani as other guitar herores have only one story to tell, that is, they are "gods" technically, nothing more. Just fireworks. Unless he is a real source of inspiration and learning for other musicians more "limited".

Joe is the god of guitar solo mastery! He captures his audience with punchy rhythmic tunes and searing guitar licks and riffs! Love this tune! By far, my favourite JD tune! 👊

Have any of you ever attended a music workshop?....A guitar workshop?.....THAT'S a crowd of GUITAR players in awe, and studying the techniques, and just as Joe said, how to use ONE guitar, to hold the audiences attention, as well as demonstrate a solid understanding of WAH pedal mechanics, and pedal points. It's not a Rock concert, it's an instructional seminar, that just happens to be Joe Satriani on guitar..........I actually love these workshops, as you get to watch the guitarist perform their songs, showcasing technique, melodic improvisation, and just DAMN GOOD guitar playing!...To attend these workshops, and jump up and down, and act like it's a concert at a festival is RUDE, CLASSLESS, AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THE ARTIST.

The guitar is mixed to much up front, the sound is way to harsh that ways and you can hear the gate cut on certain points "wich it needs to" but lower joes guitar in the mix and it will be way more pleasant as a whole.

You really don't know very much to anything about mixing do you? Lol! But hey, it's cute to see you try and talk about it as if you know what you're saying. Joe's guitar is supposed to be right up front. He's playing to backing tracks. What's more important to the listener? Joe's guitar playing at a Workshop/Performance, or the backing tracks? Also, the sound of his guitar being too "harsh" comes from the environment of the room he's in as well as how the mixing engineer decided to EQ it (which was likely Joe himself when this was getting prepared before his performance section). There's really nothing wrong with this performance or the levels dude. But again, it's cute to see you try and talk about it as if you know what's happening.

-_- cute that your trying to be a smartass. Continue this way and you'lle make allot of friends. I'm no mixer and do it with the little i've learned but yeah offcourse" you already knew that"-_-. Anyhow it doesn't sound to nice in this video no matter what, could have been done better. Btw i was there checking the levels, the where incorrect ;). It doesn't sound nice and way to pushed, hes got videos where he sounds way better and he can sure play a note or 2.

Could have been done with a cam or something but why?,and how can i know if he's going trought a pa,and then perhaps pc or not?. You don't. As i clarify with my basic knowledge and you thinking where on a level as mixers, that just saddens me. I say what i think, where is point that i prove that i'm right?. Exaclty, stop beeing an ass hat.

As a professional mix engineer, I think it sounds fine, and it probably sounded even better live. You can have your own opinion, though. That was a nearly flawless performance, though, which is the real treat here.
