I've tried many different stands. The Tama stands are the most solid and reliable I've ever used. The only stand I will be buying. Rock solid.

I have 6 Tama mic stands, 4 short boom live series, 1 again as a recording series and a tall boom tour stand. So impressed with their design and construction that I overlooked any other brand. I also have 2 drum thrones from the highest series that I use for my guitar teaching and performance and their kapur 13" snare. Tama quality really is for a lifetime. I seriously do not understand why people buy other (commonly known German...) branded stands, which just seem to fall apart over a couple of years. One of my short boom stands I even converted into the base for a VERY heavy /nay enormously HEAVY~ music stand that I built myself out of hardwood and perspex. Although Tama stands are not designed for this kind of use or abuse it has performed so impressively with the 15 kilos I placed on top of it I can thoroughly recommend these stands above any other I have seen /tried.
