Sweetwater! Not always the least expensive but always the best. I will always gladly spend a little more for gear from them for what I get in return. Quality, just like this video. Hope Santa gets me this control surface to go with the extremely excellent Studio One 3 DAW I use (and bought from Sweetwater). Nice demo Mitch. Thank you.

Wished he'd have mentioned the Faderport can only assign 8 parameters to plugins, which an EQ plugin will exceed quickly. For some reason PreSonus didn't include parameter banks beyond the 8.

Great job as always Mitch! Been looking for a control surface for Pro Tools for a long time, this looks like a serious contender. Granted it doesn't have Eucon protocol but for half the price of an Artist Mix this actually makes HUI look pretty good. I'm sure a lot of other PT users will feel the same after seeing this.

Will this work on any DAW or only for Presonus?
@sweetwater2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Dado! The FaderPort8 is going to be compatible with virtually any DAW that's being run on Mac OS X or Windows systems. Per Presonus, the FaderPort8 has HUI Emulation, which provides compatibility with Pro Tools. It also has Mackie Universal Control Emulation, which provides compatibility to Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, and Ableton. I hope this helps! Hello! The Faderport will work with Cubase, but it will require some manual mapping of its features. In a quick search, I found a few KZbin videos that go over how this is done. Thanks for the interest! Cody Kraus, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1766, cody_kraus@sweetwater.com

Anyone able to do midi cc automation with this? IE - Can you map the faders to the piano roll to overdub velocity, modulation, etc.? Does it work yet for mapping the faders to vst controls like drawbars on an organ? Still only 8 effect parameters? If not, what is the point of the midi knob and when will Presonus get it's midi act together?

If only this Controller worked with all controls with Cubase. Sadly it does NOt

Still trying to work out how they made it looks so dated, even the behringer BCF from 2004 looks fresher than this.

Same thoughts man. I can't get how the Presonus which have all their greatly organised live mixers and one of the bests UI designers in a team did this. It looks unfinished. So much empty space around, it can easily handle at least pan knobs for every channel and some knobs for more refined workflow with plugins. Please Presonus try one more time : )

@d202078 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason to buy this thing? I personally found that control surfaces dont help at all the workflow. Maybe just for adjusting volume parameters at the same time, but the fact to move your head to look the control surface is a waste of time.
@NuclearDeathWalk7 жыл бұрын
I am old school. After tracking and editing. the video displays get turned off and having a control surface to mix on allows me to use my ears to mix and not my eyes. My mix template is always the same - 56 channels. Each stem is a section of 8. Every channel has a channel strip that I use in nearly every mix and can be accessed easily with the controller. I can get a full mix up and out the door in about 3 hours (not including edits beforehand - tuning, comps, time align etc, which I don't use a controller for those things).
@FEINPOPMUSIC7 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the sense of controller either. I can do with my Mouse the same things too. On a thousand workstepps while composing, arranging and producing I touch the mix-or pan-fader just a few times. The most time I spend with edtiting events and vsts. If I had money to waste, I would buy for half the price a 24" Touchscreen;)
@doncolga087 жыл бұрын
Same here. I can move around really fast just on the keyboard. I have just ordered a FaderPort, because that will definitely help workflow for automation and automation modes. I plan to use it left handed and keep the mouse on the right.

Hi, I need help with a subject. How can I do automation with Fadeport 8 in Logic in MIdi CC? Like Expression, Modulation etc... Thanks!!
@sweetwater5 жыл бұрын
Hey, Pilar! Thanks for the note. Great question! There's a bit of nuance to this with Logic… Usually you need to go into your MIDI preferences on your Mac iOS system and insure all is set there. Once that is done, there's a bit of a process to get to the screen to do automation’s… Give me a call and I can send you a link and chat with you about it! How many fingers do you have? Seriously, for a long time I wanted a 24-32+ fader control surface as well. I ended up getting the Mackie with plans to add on the expansion units. After using the unit for 3 days and mastering the bank function, I never had a need for those other faders.
