I bought and love my GD20. It's got a beautiful, warm tone and sounds great with all types of play. Great deal for the money. I've had mine about 6 months and there's not another acoustic I'd rather have under $1,000.

Is the mahogany back and sides solid or laminate? The guitar sounds nice, but if it has laminate back and sides I might as well go for a Mexican Martin, which has a solid top, solid neck, and laminate back and sides.
@АлишерАрыстанбеков-п7д3 жыл бұрын
Laminated back and sides I think. But it definitely has solid Cedar top. Btw, I wanna offer this guitar and decide if ot really sounds well.

Besides the split saddle, and the "seam" on the back, what is the difference between the GD20 and the GS330S ?
@sweetwater5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Joe! The GD20 is an updated dreadnought acoustic that is constructed along the same lines as the older GS330S. Aside from some aesthetic differences in the binding, as well as those you mentioned, it is does feature a laminate mahogany back and sides. The GS330S was constructed with a Nato back and sides. These tone woods are similar, but mahogany would be considered an upgrade, being a bit heavier, and should contribute to a bit better projection on the GD20. That split/compensated saddle will also help with improved intonation. I would say, if you've liked the GS330S, you'll probably love the GD20. I hope that helps. Thanks for your interest! @@sweetwater OK, great. Thanks for the information on these guitars. Yes, I really like my GS330S. It's representative of the description of cedar tops, projecting more fundamental frequencies, having more of a woodlike tone, and taking more energy in strumming to project the same volume, with less strum, on a spruce top guitar. I believe, if I remember right, that the GS330S has braces that are non-scalloped. It will probably take a harder strum, before distorting, for that reason (I suspect.) You can play with a pick, pretty hard on it, and projects well. It's almost like these guitars are built for heavy strummers. I generally finger pick, though. For strummers that like to be energetic in their strum, these are great guitars. Thanks again, Larry !

What's the difference between the GD20 and the GD30?
@sweetwater5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Mark. The main differences are the woods used. The GD30 has a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. The GD20 has a Cedar top with Sapele back and sides. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
