Gawd, they sounded like no one else. They’re on fire here!

My first band supported them in Aberdeen (Scotland) in 1989, just after their first album came out. They were amazing. Great to see this set.

Thanks for watching and commenting. Were you a local band to the Aberdeen area ?
@hamipai002 жыл бұрын
@@ScottishTeeVee - yes, we were. I played in a handful of bands in Aberdeen during the late eighties/early nineties and did a number of such supports in local venues, including Teenage Fanclub, Senseless Things, AC Acoustics, Baby Chaos, etc. Happy days!

Super underrated band! Lucky enough to catch them on their last two US tours and they're still absolutely killing it!

Jimmy looks the same today as he did then. Awesome. I love this band.

Yeah I first heard of swerve driver from a friend from Seattle who said this band is the favorite band of the bands of the Seattle scene

I remember driving by the Hollywood Palladium in 92 and seeing Soundgarden and Swervedriver on the marquee and being bummed I had to work the night or nights they were playing. Missed so many great shows in the early 90’s due to work:( But at least there’s videos like these in existence. Thank you for putting this up!

Ha same! I recall missing Soundgarden/Dinosaur Jr at the Whiskey in about ‘91 because I had to be at my valet job at 6 am....regrets. You always thought there would be another show .... that era was golden

Don't know if it's worse to be somewhere that constantly has great bands, but you have to work. Or having the night off, but your city only has two venues and no one cool is coming. : )

Danny Ingram ex Youth Brigade on drums!
@TehGav10 ай бұрын
You'll see here that Danny (Ingram, drummer in various early DC hardcore bands) flubs the intro to Rave Down three times. Swervedriver's drummer had just exploded, and Ingram flew out from DC and took over on drums with 24 hours notice, learning the songs on the plane. He had never played with the band before.

Another great post. Thanks so much. Saw them for the first time in Toronto just 7 days earlier than this gig & loved it. Gastown's Town Pump has been gone since the late 90s but had a pretty notable history.

Following the channel for a long while now. Sometimes I suspect that the guy called Iain to whom I used to buy VHS tapes with all sorts of audience recordings and TV appearances is here, at Scottish TV... More than 30 years ago.
