Honey J? HoneyJ from purplow??? I see her and the crew look to have changed.😅☺️ I mean I’m happy for her change but back in the day when I used to be watching her and her crew they kind of appropriated a little. A few of the other girls more so than her. Honey J also used to be pretty tan. I see she let herself lighten back up and fit right back into the normal Korean beauty standards. I’m not saying that’s bad for her but this is what black people mean when we say culture appropriation and why we say this is what Koreans and white people do. We as black people cant take away naturally tanned skinned or dark skin. Our hair naturally has an Afro and braids and things like that are more than just hairstyles. We see how easily her and her crew were able to jump back into the Korean fashion and style to fit into their society the way they want so they can obtain the things they want. Meanwhile black people and the mixed people over there don’t have that Luxury. I included the mix people because often times more than imitating black people. They are trying to appear as if they could be mixed because of famous people like yoon mi rae and insooni and any other mixed with black and Koreans they saw or was around them. I’m ultimately happy for honey J though. Better get and her crew to get into their own culture than trying to imitate someone else’s. Note: I’m not saying her and her crew can’t love hip hop and the fashion. Darkening one’s skin and changing your hairstyle to look black isn’t appreciation especially when you can go back to your normal culture to fit in anytime you want. Black people cant do that easily and that is the whole point of culture appropriation. If you decide to respond please bring something credible to the table or else I’ll just block you and delete your comment if possible. Again I’m happy for her happiness though.
