Harriets’ babies carry on her legacy.. smart, fierce when needed , close to each other & to dad, strong , intelligent , beautiful & they will carry her memory on. To see them like this is precious and we’re all so happy they’re together once again. This is beautiful to see , we love you little family - thank you Lady Hawk 🦅💟

It seems like a stronger bond then others , maybe because Mom wasn't there ? Like humans , everyone needs a mother's love. Let's hope life gives them a break for all the hard times they've suffered so young.

I agree! A permanent engraved plaque - it doesn’t have to be big - attached to the tree gets my vote! M15 is the Hero of the SWFL nest! I just hope he’ll stay in the area once E21/E22 fledge and come back in Aug/Sept with an F23 close by his side.

I just caught up with yesterday’s nest time and can’t believe the dreaded owls left them alone one whole night, wow! Fingers crossed for tonight🤞It was sweet watching them on the nest beaking, picking at each other’s feathers and then both eating the ACF. I watched them in the nest Saturday as well. Beaking and bonding. I love these babies! Hard to believe they’ve three months old already. I’m really really going to miss them when they leave the area. Thank you, Lady Hawk, for being able for once to bring us a lovely video of the E’s getting along so much better each day. Giving the time stamps takes up a lot of your extra time, and I so appreciate it. I think you’ll start feeling better once you see the dr. and get your test results back. Take care.🕊️🌺🍀

Hi Linda you are very welcome! I am glad that the timestamps are of help to you and the viewers to find those key moments! Sometimes they are hard to locate from a phone and trying to scroll back and forth so it is much easier to just click on the TS and there it is! Yes it does add to the amount of time it takes for me to put out a video but I think it is worth it!! I hope I can get my insurance co to authorize this one test they have denied - it may hold the diagnosis I need to start getting treatment!! TC and have a great evening!!♥

Love seeing the siblings together with the cute antics. Loved watching M15 ( Super Dad)looking over his shoulder down at his babies, proud Daddy. I love this family and the journey they took to success after Harriet disappeared. These babies I believe will be their strongest. Harriet your babies have grown up strong because of you and M15, because of your love for each other he was strong and his babies were his first concern, he carried on through many difficult days, you can now rest your wings, sit on a cloud and smile and enjoy just watching no more worries. They are stronger each day.

Well it's easy to tell them apart for now 😉🤭 I love the bond these two have. I always have. When 21 got knocked into the nest 1st the other night, and 22 sat there (before he was taken out by the owl and flew away), he sat and talked, chirping at her, looking down, so concerned. They love each other. They have had each other 99% of the time, dad has been off and away, I believe keeping the intruders away, while he's eaten, and hunted. But they had each other. M has been so clever doing this alone. He's such an awesome dad knowing they'd bond - and all the joy we've seen from it! And the laughs! 😅

Hi Ann both E's will go their separate ways when they are ready to leave the area for good. We have seen a lot of the juveniles head up the coast to find good fishing grounds. I would love to know how long they retain their memory of each other and their time with Mom and Dad but they have imprinted this area and they will return to their natal nest area when they are mature and ready to find a mate. We do see a lot of juveniles and sub adults flying through the area - there is a large population of eagles in the state of FL.

It must be easier for a male Bald to provide for two Eaglets by himself than it is for a female. Our Nancy here in St. Paul, Minnesota lost one her babies last year after her mate went missing.
@ladyhawk
@ladyhawk Жыл бұрын
Hi Shira yes it usually is easier for a male to be able to provide for the eaglets because the female will be brooding them and expecting the male to bring in food. Sometimes they are not able to hunt and brood successfully and the chicks don't make it. The E's were still young when Harriet went missing but they did not have to be brooded day and night. That made it okay for M15 to roost on the attic branch (not in the nest like Harriet would do) and also he allowed him to spend the majority of the day away hunting and fishing. He did feed them for a few weeks but once they were old enough to self feed, his job became a little easier. There was a nest in Decorah Iowa where Mom Decorah has three eaglets and her mate went missing when they were very young, She did raise them to fledge by herself but there was a trout fishery next to the nest so food was in ample supply and she would only be gone very short periods of time. Other nests don't have that luxury and the female would have to go out and hunt and fish and defend her territory too. I was watching MN DNR nest with Nancy losing her mate Harry and also E2 last year. That was so tragic. And this year she lost her nest and her only chick! Nature can be cruel at times - I hope that Nancy and Beau will be able to rebuild a new nest and have a family next season!

Saw this live and love it ALL! 😀 ~To those who struggle in telling them apart = great opp when they're together. E21 is bigger, longer tail feathers and we can see a line over each eye. Most likely her supraorbital ridge coming out. E22's are covered by his feathers, so we don't see the lines. Both males and females have this but it's usually more prominent in females. ~~I continue to believe E21 is female, E22 is male based upon both physical characteristics and behaviors. Not fact, just my opinion. ~~~Thanks Lady Hawk! 'Back to work I go... See ya'll later!❤

What does beaking ❤ mean and preening each other? Is it a show of affection? It was so wonderful to watch
@ladyhawk
@ladyhawk Жыл бұрын
Beaking is a term we use to denote when they touch each other with their beaks or seem to be jostling at times with one another. Birds mutually allopreen one another that is a sign of affection yes. Usually Harriet does the preening on her E's ♥

Poop on beak aside, beaks do grow continuously like fingernails and shed at the tip in thin layers if normal wear and tear doesn't keep the surface ground down.

Lady Hawk, it's now 1:13pm and E22 is lying in the nest since 11:42am. Is this normal behaviour?
@ladyhawk
@ladyhawk Жыл бұрын
Hi Cassie yes that is perfectly normal behavior. The E's are learning so many new skills and flying around and even branching 24 hours a day is tiring for them. They need to rest and lie down on the nest like that. They are still young eagles!!

Oh, how I wish I knew where their future nests will be when their time comes to leave this one. I'm so nervous not knowing when it will happen. Also, they haven't caught any fish of their own yet.
@ladyhawk
@ladyhawk Жыл бұрын
Hi Dorisann they E's won't be catching fish for quite a while. They will be finding carrion, roadkill to eat and stealing food from other raptors and predators to survive until they can learn to hunt on their own. It takes time to hone that skill too - it is usually trial and error and observation. Fishing is a skill that comes later - they have to be able to dive into the water with their talons, grab the fish and get back up in the air with it. Many times, the inexperienced juveniles will land in the water and not be able to fly out because they misjudged the fish and depth. Also their talons lock around the fish and they don't want to let of it - if they are in the water they have to let go of it to swim to shore. It is a hard skill to learn!! Once they master it, their odds at survival will increase substantially!!

@@ladyhawk You are so insightful with the education you provide for us Lady Hawk! 🫶❤️‍🩹 I do hope your insurance company shows some mercy in approving the diagnostic test you need. @@kathleenmccaffery1313 Thank you for your kind words Kathleen! I called this morning and the insurance co is asking for more information from my doctor so hopefully they will approve soon!! If not, I will self pay just to get the test done and move forward. @@DorisannKraniak The E's here at SWFL leave on average at 126 days old. E15 stayed the longest at 216 days but that was quite the anomaly!! The E's are 96/94 days old so hopefully they will stick around a few more weeks!
