At daybreak, E15 perched and vocalized from a front pine and Harriet & M15 were not seen. E15 spent time in the front pine, pasture snag and CSPS (church side pond snag, always watchful, before flying to a "hidden" area at the pond. After one of the adults flew through the west pasture, E15 reappeared on the CSPS. Harriet was seen behind the shopping center watching the nest tree and flew there when she saw M15 approaching the nest with food. Harriet beat E15 to the food and flew from the pasture with it. E15 vocalized to M15, flying to him, mantling on the branch. M15 flew from the nest tree and soared above the pasture. E15 was alone again to watch and wait. Perhaps the adults are beginning "tough love" with their 198 day old juvenile?

Vicki, I think your tough love theory is right, and it may very well have been going on all along. In any case, when M15 and Harriet go into breeding mode, they probably won't tolerate E15's presence, but who really knows?

I have never been so fond of an eaglet as I am to E15, I am sure partly to do with how long I have had to get to know her. When she does leave, it will be the hardest departure I’ve yet to endure. I love all of the ‘babies’, but I am especially going to miss this little one.

Never easy for Dad to provide food for his Lady Love Harriet and E15. Harriet seemed hungry and was glad M brought in food to the nest. Just as E15 came squeeing in, Harriet flew off with the food. E15 will soon learn that she is not always going to get the food first. Mom has to eat too. Dad also. Love watching E15 flying about the area, she always surprises us all.

Harriet pulled a good one by stealing food and flying away with it to eat elsewherere! When E15 attempted to fly up to be branched right next to her Daddy Eagle, M15 flew away from E15 so fast. This is the 2nd time M15 has done that. Before, E15 was able to perch next to M15 (you have a prior vid of them perched together.) Usually, this normal behavior with Eaglets right after they fledge and come back to nest and train with the Parents for a BRIEF period. Because this is mating time and supposed to be Eagle Couples doing nestorations to prepare for egg laying and new Eaglets, seems M15 does not want any female (including a kid) that close to him except for "Harriet." They usually will still feed their offspring, but may decide to stop a delivery, as a hint and most Eaglets get the message and leave. Even Simba of Big Bear, who had a HUGE Hissy Fit at Jackie for not bringing a Fish to the nest, fledged the very next morning. We can only wait & see how this is going to turn out for E15, M15, & Harriet. Always something amazing and different at this Nest Home!

Harriet was certainly faster than she has been to get to the food delivery, and then fly right off with it. I was fortunate to be on live cam right after, with E15 in the nest, while M15 remained on the branch. As each season is unquestionably unique, and this one as a recluth certainly one of those to be most remembered, it is taking it's divine course in the process. M15 and Harriet are certainly tremendous BAEA parents, have been diligent, patient and loving, giving E15 the best start an Eaglet could possibly have. It is likely that they are still training E15 in finesse and various skills as her door to remain here is now limited in time. I have a feeling that the Giver of the miracle has given each of them some extra together time to celebrate this event . There are Eaglets that have not left their nest area for 220 days + and the best posture would be to buckle up and enjoy this amazing ride. Great to also see E15 with her various friends, the American Kestrel was a beauty. E15 will leave at just the right time. Let us enjoy her today , and the time that remains. Thank you so much Vicky.

What is going to happen when Harriet lays eggs and E15 is still there? And when the eggs hatch and E is still there... Will the little ones be in danger? I tried to find out if there was any other Eaglets that has stuck around this long and couldn't find anything...

Roni Vee In Seminole, we do not know what is going to happen. When there are eggs and young eaglets in the nest, one of the adults is always there with them. There are juveniles that remain in the area but it is not common.

@@roniveeflorida727 - the eagles will work it out. Actual physical confrontations are rare. Physical confrontations can lead to injury for either eagle and are energy intensive. Injuries can affect their hunting skills and leave them exposed to infection. The loud vocalizations that are called out to intruders are a method of securing territory with minimal physical interaction.

But M15 is still bringing food to E15 to the nest. If they want E15 away from the nest you would think they would feed him/her away from it. They did mate already but have not done anything to the nest. I just can't imagine what the situation will be like if/when Harriet lays eggs. E15 wouldn't allow M15 to bring food to Harriet as he has in the past when she is on the eggs. Forget about having food in the pantry if/when new eaglets are born. That is when M15 and Harriet will have to get serious about getting E15 to move on and spread her wings to fly and soar on her own.
