The episode update screwed over many players including myself no matter which way you try to spin it. The only people trying to justify it are those who don't work a regular job or those living off of mommy and daddy.

I made it EXACTLY to level 50 without any bonus crate afterwards. This is including the free points they gave us. Without the free points I wouldn’t have made it.

You still would have made it to lvl 45, they only gave 5 levels worth of points. And with the changes you will likely still make it even easier going forward.

I'm F2P on an 8 month old account. I made it to 50 and got a couple of bonus chests (so level 52 kind of), but CG gave me 28,600 points (5 and a half levels). So I guess I would have made it to level 46 or 47 without that. @Nooch, there are 2 mod-related quests hidden away under Journey Quests or Achievements (can't remember). Completing those got rid of the red "2" circle.

I'm a f2p player. I made it to the end of the track and also got two bonus chests, but I was making sure I fulfilled all the feats to get the 8k bonus points. But with the changes and extra points they gave us, I can't confirm that I would have made it. I'll have to see how Episode 2 goes.

First things first, I bought the pass and it is amazing value. Getting all my omicrons and extra mod slicing materials despite some nasty GCs that would have hurt me before has made this my best month of growth so far. The data we really need is how many F2P people were actually better off from these changes and how many were worse off. By that I mean breakdown of gear and rewards, not did they reach the end of the track, because depending on how people previously did on GCs it's entirely possible to not finish the reward track and be better off through getting omicrons, injectors and/or mod slicing materials that they would have missed. It's also only going to get better next episode.

@@bodigames I just bought the hyperdrive bundle which adds a bunch of journey quest and the red indicator came back up on my screen, so you are wrong. The journey quests definitely make the red indicator pop up on your screen smart guy

my 600k f2p account is at level 48. Just got to do them takes 2 min a day. Also, the red dot isn't on mine, it is on yours because you haven't done your f2p quests. Complete those your red dot goes away.

Nooch, you’re missing out on tons of easy points for no reason. Why not get the 3 star general syndulla feat on t1-2 of the GC? It’s completely free. And like “inflict blind” and “defeat enemies with phoenix characters” takes 1 or 2 battles at level 1 of the galactic challenge. If you’re deciding to ignore opportunities to get episode points, don’t be surprised that you didn’t reach the end of the pass. It’s not just 2000 per quest, if you complete all 7 you also get an 8000 point reward. I got to lv50 in the episode pass free to play.

Actually making the Kyrotechs 10 means it becomes an "either/or" thing rather than an "and". If they were trying to allow everyone they would have made it 5 sets of 2 or something. Omega/Omicron/Kyrotechs/characters. Spenders can still get everything they want(and more now), but F2P will be sacrificing something for progress in something else. This system still really feels like it is meant to stunt the growth of F2P players without it looking like it is. There is no benefit vs the old system other than the obfuscation. To be clear I whale. I just don't like the scuzzy feeling of it all. The updates will change the feel of it, but I doubt they will change the actuality of it. Again there is no benefit from the effort otherwise.

And before I didn't red crate every time, but I did gold every time, (except when the gungans were stomping everone)so I still got the 2 omis. Point is everyone said the math was correct, and CG had to give us extra points just to ensure f2p players could finish.

@doubleshootertanki682 unless someone had a complete Jawa, Tuscan, and rebel fighter team no you could not get all the points needed. The problem is EVERYONE including CG said the math added up, and it did not. If it did CG wouldn't have had to give out over 12,000 exp. But they based everything off of the whale economy and said it was fine for f2p. When if you dont have a ridiculously developed roster you wouldn't have made it (Tuscan, Jawa, rebel fighter) And btw being able to chose to get omis and whatever other rewards lowers the amount of other rewards we got from crates, now instead of a healthy supply building up you have to actively purchase said materials. Not to mention offering a whole whopping 2 kryotechs per purchase, yeah really riveting rewards.

@blairm6128 You negate your Argument within your Argument. If you didnt have jawas or turkens you couldnt Finish the GC before anyways and got way worse rewards. So no, thats not Bad, 99% of ftp get way way better rewards than before, there is no denying that. Its just that people who pay get way more now, which doendt bother the F2p because it doenst hurt you. They only need to chance the UI, so those quests are not shown unless you bought the things you need because its painful

8:45 The "2" means how many tasks you have in "journey quests". I have "3+" and 4 tasks in this tab, on the second account I have "3" and 3 tasks. Total stupidity and it is annoying because it does not mean that you have something to collect but what you still have to do.

By your own admission you didn't really try with your f2p account and work only 1.7m gp you reached 39. Had you actually put effort into it (no judgement) you would have probably been at around 45 or so. Had you had a higher gp your could have probably finished more GC and tagged the 50. With all the new changes coming I'm pretty sure that you should be able to easily reach level 50 by the end of the season f2p. I missed several days f2p and I'm pretty sure I'm about where you are at. You clearly were not enthused and so you didn't put in the maximum effort that you might have if this was your main account. Personally i think that's actually a great test for the system. You just did what you did and didn't really go out of your way to get it done on a 1.7M gp account and yet you still accomplished 78% of the track. Given that pre track system i only usually get enough points in the crate to get a sungle omni/GC this is a huge improvement for me. It's not the most exciting system but it's a clear improvement for my account

I got to 45 but ended up buying the regular pass just this morning just so I could get the high relic material. My guild still runs Endor Raid due to the lack of Gungans, so we have no access to MK3 raid currency. For $20, I felt it was worth it. After buying the pass, I got to 50 very easily. They really need to refresh that store more than weekly.

Through the end of this first one I am ahead of my rewards in the old system, w/o factoring in the p2p track Like many players I’m curious to see how the updates to episode 2 (no 5-6 levels of make-good XP, frontloaded/updated GC feats, shop update) impact this overall. This track has not had the best presentation on CG’s part, but it definitely skews more to my playstyle than the old system. I’m glad there’s such substantial discussion on it here too - thanks!

I know I’m getting allot of mod parts to upgrade as usual, because I’m hoarding the currency for omicrons and omegas. Also miss the extra shards for that currency. I think with new changes it will be easier to save and spend accordingly.

I made it to level 50 without the episode pass but only would have made it to like level 40-42 without all the free ex from cg. Still pretty solid though. I don’t think it is a horrible change or anything. Hope CG changes a little bit but not a massive issue.

Level 40 without many Galactic Challenges feats and on graphics 5/2 (when 2 is 2 days without SWGOH), 3.75 millions gm. I like changes, that CG made - really helpful. With new future changes, I will say, that new system is good.

I got three of the bonus crates with my f2p 2.5mil gp. This means given the free points they gave me i really made it to lvl 48. With the new changes especially with less required points from tier 1-5 i will make it back to 50. Noted i did max put everything i could and am getting more rewards than before. In my opinion this rewards active gameplay :).

I did make it to 50 at 4.1m gp but I didn’t miss a single daily quest and got every episode quest done aside from the one this week that said complete 5 gc tasks. I don’t think I would’ve made it without that 25k that cg gave everyone but maybe next season with the added gc task of just winning the battle it will be possible. Stay Gud Nooch. Bottom line: CG took a relatively inconsequential game mode in Galactic Challenges (yes... omi rewards) and managed to make it a less fulfilling experience. This 'game' has a 'fun' problem that needs to be addressed. TW and GAC are in desperate need of reworks, Raid(s) are an awful experience in the mid-game, and TB is simply relic threshold check and nightmare for guild leaders. Is this is where the fun begins?

It looks like if you'd done all of the Episode Quests (which aren't difficult at all - other than the one they screwed up the timing on and are fixing for the next episode) on the f2p, you would have made it all the way up to level 46. And then another day of dailies would put you at 47. I'm f2p and made it to 50 easily; I have been playing since 2017 and have a fairly robust account, though.

Both my accounts (one paid and one f2p) comfortably got to lvl50. Paid, was there for probably weeks & f2p for probably 5ish days now (approx). Progressing through the track took very minimal effort, even with finishing every feat. I haven’t run the numbers but I would wager the ppl not getting to lvl50 are still doing fine relative to what they were getting under the old system. There’s a whole lot of red crate delusion going on since the change. Early gamers were absolutely not getting a ton of red crates anyway 😂

As long as you use your attempts then you should get the raid rewards, even at 0 points it counts when submitted.

Completed all F2P 28 quests on both my accts, tried my best in all GC's. My alt 2.6m act got to 48 (43 minus the 5 free levels), 7,2m main got to 50 and 3 rolls of bonus, minus the free 5 levels would have got to 48. I still don't like it at all and liked the old GC's much better.

The system itself is a good gauge. You don't over complicate something if you are doing it for someone else's benefit. When someone is running a shell game they don't do it to give you money, but so they can sucker you out of money.
