You sir are the greatest teacher ever, you taught me and gave me answers that nobody did, no matter how many teachers I went to on the net, books, dvd's and many live teachers that I went to sience 1985, not just this song but every song of yours, so far that I visited, answers that I begged to get, paid to get and never got, your teaching technology should be studied by everyone that I tried to learn from. Thank you so so very much, I am finally taking off musically.

ROBERT You have out done all that i have watched on HOW TO PLAY A SONG on KZbin. Mathew B has said what i feel. ELVIS had really put his heart into this 68 special. Nothing equals the beat of this number. NW.

Thanks Matthew, this song has been on my personal list for a long time, so glad to have it on my channel. I’ll get back to Elvis soon enough. Thanks for the positive feedback!

@@swiftlessons Walter Egan has been doing his Magnet and Steel acoustically( recent renditions),and this wonderful build up slide. He played bass and keeps his palm close to neck, and has a great walk around from barred A to Bb and slide up to C#m.. EVERYBODY LOVES,but nobody is playing right because must utilize pinky for the Bb(Is a group riff) or cannot get it.. I am close but walk around changes between 6th string on 3rd fret and 5th + 6 th 4th fret on way around from barred A... If you figured it ,you would have a huge gain in subs as many cheesing it.(Nobody is playing it correctly) Some of the old timers even using capo's and cheesing it.. Walter is playing it similar to electric rendition but more depth..Really is spectacular renditions.. If you heard you would have it instantly on your list...This Martin makes its sound so epic Some clips show his hand dead nuts ,but being a bass player once,hard to see due to his style.. If interested,look when he is setting with his back up singer Susan McCluskey or even setting with girl on each side..Standing are his electric renditions.(more flat technique on electric) This and" it's now or never" are great lessons...(As usual with your contributions) Salute From Scranton... Happy 2022!!

Oh yes! Finally got it! Thank you for the great lesson Rob. I can’t stop playing it! No wonder Elvis played it multiple times during his 68 comeback special show ❤️❤️❤️🕺🏻

If you notice in Elvis Come back special, he plays the E shuffle with (1) finger which he just slides down from the 2F to the 4th F to the 5th F- and starts back up again. Oppose to our way of holding down the 2nd of the A the 4th of the A and then the 5th of the A. I tried both ways but really can’t tell the difference in sound. Elvis way seems actually a bit easier. Anyhow. Keep up the great work brother !!!
@DavidCrites073 жыл бұрын
In my opinion it sounds better playing it the way Elvis does. I use my index to play 2 and 4 then middle to play 5 and use my index to play the 4th again and slide back down to the starting position.
@miguelfilo9622 жыл бұрын
Elvis does it that way because he never was much of a guitar player. It's poor technique & too much moving of the hand position.

Am I alone in thinking that this is way more difficult to pull off than I anticipated ? The lesson is terrific, it's just that the timing and those walkups and the turnaround are really tricky to nail. This will definitely take quite a bit of time to get right.
